Developing Departmental Work Rules – Developing written

work rules can go a long way in informing your employees what

you expect of them. An employer has the right to expect his or her employees to conform to a reasonable standard of conduct. Enabling knowledge and understanding of how your department holds to certain shared values by which employee actions are to be measured and governed is paramount within any organization. Moreover, employees who act in an inappropriate or unreasonable manner can damage your department and institutions by creating unhappy coworkers or, even worse, unhappy clients. In this session the speaker will discuss the importance of culture, beliefs, norms, and values, but more importantly developing departmental work rules.
