COURSE DESCRIPTION: A survey of the basic Biblical teaching regarding God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit.
COURSE OBJECTIVES: The student who successfully completes this course should be able:
1. to appreciate the beauty, value, and nature of Bible-based theology as an intellectual discipline.
2. to be familiar with and understand a variety of theological terms, concepts, expressions, and ideas.
3. to be aware of the major Biblical passages used to support various theological positions on major issues.
4. to understand the nature of some major theological debates and begin formulating one’s own views and positions concerning these issues and debates.
5. to understand a variety of theological positions and developments in Christian heritage.
6. to articulate a statement of faith with reference to the Bible’s teaching about God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, the Trinity, and the revelation, inspiration, and authority of Scripture.

Assignments
- The student will write (type) six (6) lessons suitable for teaching adults. You are to write two lessons on God, two on Christ, and two on the Holy Spirit. Each lesson should cover a fifty (50) minute class period. The following list is given to help you get started, however, you are not restricted to the topics on this list. If you want to do something other than what is on this list please see me first.

These assignments should include a title page that includes the following information:
- The title of the paper
- The course name (TTH 210 Basic Bible Doctrines 1)
- The professor’s name (Mr. Snyder)
- The semester and year (Fall, 2010)
- Your name and mailbox number
The lessons on God are due on September 29, 2010.
The lessons on Christ are due on October 29, 2010.
The lessons on the Holy Spirit are due on November 19, 2010.
*NOTE: Assignments that are handed in partially done will receive the grade 0%.*
All assignments MUST be handed in order to pass the course.
Quizzes
There are fifteen (15) chapters of reading for this course. There will be ten (10) quizzes given over chapters selected by the professor (More on this on the first day of class). If you get an “A” (not an A-) on the first eight (8) quizzes you will not have to take the last two quizzes and you will receive an “A” for the final two (2) quizzes.
Examinations
There will be four examinations given in this course. Each exam will cover one of the four main topics studied (Scripture, God, Christology, Pneumatology) and will be given at the completion of each section. The date of each exam will be announced throughout the semester and ample time for study will be given.
Late Policy
Late work will not be accepted. Assignments are due on the due date at the beginning of the class period.
Attendance Policy
See student handbook. Anything over what is allowed will result in the
failure of the course and you will receive an FA (Failure due to absences).
