Tryout Board Meeting
Members in attendance: Brian Cunniffe, Tom Carty, Ken Dlouhy, Alan Liuzza, Chris Lindquist, Janeen Zinna, Mike Eggelston, John Cullen, Mike Bolla, Greg Sansone and John Meyer.
Janeen made a motion to open the meeting, Chris seconded.
Meeting called to order @ 8:05 pm.
Boys U-19 Team - Strikers
It was brought to the board’s attention that the behavior of some of the players on this team was inappropriate. Players were disrespectful to the coach and players of the other team, as well as their own coach. Crude language was used and a player on the other team was injured. This isn’t the first time the club has had problems with this team. Three specific players were cited.
John Cullen will investigate with the Mid-Jersey, ref who officiated the game and report back to the board. Tom will contact the coach of the Strikers to get more information and report back to the board. Upon receipt of this information, the board can determine what the recourse should be. John C will need to fill out USSF Supplemental Forms. Two board members (Mike E/Mike B) will be present for any conversations.
Try Out Process
Tom opened with a review of the process. Various board members made comments on the content of the presentation. John M will send proposed process slide deck to board members on Tuesday, April 21. Board members have 24 hours to review/comment on the process. Final slide deck will be sent to Janeen for placement on the web page.
Greg to reach out to all team managers to determine language for team specific try-outs.
John C recommended that the presentation be converted to a word document in PDF and placed on the web-site.
Try-out Materials/Staffing
Tom to send an e-mail to all board members with specific requirements and board members will sign up to volunteer/provide material accordingly.
Board will discuss Team Formation/Early Notification at the next board meeting.
