Purpose Statement

A development role designed to cultivate experience in all reconciliation functions and give a good understanding of the end-to-end processes and foster strong analytical skills. The Junior Analyst role is intended to be a supporting role to the Reconciliation Analysts with the possibility to progress into a Reconciliation Analyst role over time. The Junior Analyst will provide recommendations and help implement initiatives that reduce discrepancies, deliver continuous operational improvement and result in improved quality of service.

To analyse wholesale supply charges to ensure charges are correctly invoiced and are optimised for the customers’ requirements. To ensure that sound reconciliation systems and processes are in place so that payments can be accurately reconciled to Trustpower sales data and resolve all discrepancies in a robust and timely manner.

The Junior Reconciliation Analyst will:

v  Analyse monthly energy, line and other charges in accordance with agreed contract timetables and process invoices for these charges

v  Develop and enhance processes and systems to ensure accurate reconciliation of wholesale charges

v  Analyse sales data to ascertain that the services provided have been on sold to customers

v  Ensure payments and discrepancies are reported appropriately

v  Improve business processes and allow more efficient operating of reconciliation processes

v  Optimisation of distributor supply rating to ensure lowest cost to customers

v  Understand how the reconciliation process fits into Trustpower and the implications across other departments

Key Accountabilities

The Junior Reconciliation Analyst will:

Financial Performance

1.  Ensure wholesale supply purchase costs are calculated accurately and losses minimised in order to maximise gross profit

2.  Accurately assess all variances in Energy loss reporting

Reconciliation

1.  Audit wholesale supplier invoices against contracts and internal monitoring tools to verify that all charges are valid and accurately billed to customers.

Operations and Process Improvement

1.  Improve processes and systems to ensure products are able to be reconciled and wholesale costs verified

2.  Identify projects and opportunities for improvements in automation, cost reductions and revenue generation

3.  Provide robust BAU solutions for the reconciliation team

4.  Provide technical analysis and support to team members

5.  Undertake projects as agreed

6.  Ability to adapt to changing requirements

Team Work

Analysis

1.  Resolve issues that impact on the timeliness and accuracy of outputs

2.  Provide analytical support to the Reconciliation team

3.  Proactively analyse data and provide well thought out solutions by interrogating data. Interpreting results and assessing impacts of alternative mitigation strategies

4.  Support the development and implement changes to the reconciliation system and reports to meet company and industry requirements
