Minutes for Meeting Tuesday October 14, 2008 Coaches/Managers Meeting

Not Present: John Salsberry, House Director; Scott McGillivray-VP Travel; Randy Urban-ACE coordinator; Chris Kiely, Treasurer
Call meeting to order-Lee Visbara8:05 p.m.
Agenda:
1)Guest : Chris from Photographic Impressions. . Pictures will be taken Saturday & Sunday (Oct 25 &26). Sign up sheets were available and forms. If appointments need to be schedule call 888-416-1516

2)Reminder: Financial statements from every team needs to be submitted every month
3) Secretary position was filled by Linda Crosby
4)Late Ice Payments: Rink is sending out monthly statements, When payments are greater than 10 days late TSC will send out a delinquent notice. If the payment remains outstanding the rink will notify the head coach. It is encouraged if families need more time to contact Vickie Lamerato at the rink.
5)Team late payments: asked if there is a policy if parents aren’t paying for things not included in monthly ice bills (2nd set of jerseys, outside games, tournaments).
6)Larry Rowe – Came up ideas for TYHA fundraising to establish scholarship funds a- an Association wide Bowling Night - once a year event
b- an Association wide raffle – to include seller awards
c- Kroger Plus – 5% of sales would return to the association cost to get started would $5 / gift card
d- JD’s piano bar - ½ bar tab would go back to association, could also do a raffle.
7)Adray: Team fees were paid by rink ($85/team) meetings were held for scheduling. Kevin Peters is the chair for Pee Wee division and Phil is chairing the Squirt division. If parents have Adray concerns contact Kevin. Adray score sheets were discussed – e-mail or fax a copy to Kevin Peters.
8)It is encouraged to keep website information updated
9)Computerized scoreboard: Point Streak capabilities are available at the rink. There is an eight minute tutorial video on-line at
10)Sting Hats & Sweatshirts are still available for check or cash just contact a board member.
11)Yearbook pages will be collected in January. You can use any team picture.
12)MAHA – has a open position: Disability Director
13)Carol from MAHA District 3 is working on a coaches certificate program for students.
14)Cross Ice Feedback: Games are going well kids are scoring a lot of goals. “B” liners are getting more ice and puck touches. Both “A” and “B” players are showing exhaustion at games. This format has changed the games mentality. Parents have positive feedback. Refs have also been positive addition it lets coaches talk to players. Will re-visit next couple of months to finalize if the division will continue cross ice games in January or go to full ice. Coaches would like players to get full ice game experience before the mini-mite mania. It was encouraged that everyone go and watch a cross ice game which are currently held on Sundays at 8:30 A.M.
15)Remember to report things to the rink of any locker/ facility issues. Rink #1 doesn’t have any white boards the rink will install some. Also note lights on scoreboards are being addressed
16)Old Sting Jerseys – if anyone is interested there are numerous jerseys available for purchase at a discounted price. Teams are encouraged to purchase for practice jerseys
17)Randy Urban will be checking coaches cards make sure your coaches have the correct level and cards aren’t expired
