TROOP 42 COMMITTEEMEETING MINUTES (10/28/15)

-Opening and call to order by Rob at 7:10PM.

-September 2015 meeting minutes were accepted

NEWS

-Steve- On the Eskimo Run the Blue Course (Webelo 1) is new. Troop 42 has been assigned station 4 (Engineer/Blue & Artist/Gold). Unsure at this time if questions will be provided to us.

SCOUTMASTER REPORT(Jacques not present)

-Magdalin Island canceled

-discussion on some older patrols aging out (Dragons/Duct Tape) as well as enthusiasm level in general in the troop- not as high as it usually is

-Need to identify new Scoutmaster within the next 2-3 months

ACTIVITIES REVIEW

-CANCELED: Fall Camporee (10/9-10/11): Freedom Park in LaGrange

-CANCELED: Magdalin Island Campout (10/24-10/25): Scouts must be 13 years old and a rank of Life or higher, or 14 years old and a rank of Star

-Cabin Camping at Nooteeming (11/13-11/15): NRA Instructor & gun range officer are all set. Need to confirm age requirement- thought to be 12 and older.

-Wreath decorating (11/21-11/22): planning for three 2 hours shifts on Saturday and two 2 hour shifts on Sunday.

-Wreath sale (11/28)

-Tech Camp (12/4-12/5): is confirmed to be at the SaugertiesKoC

-Adopt a Highway Cleanup (12/6)

-Webelos Sleepover (1/15-1/16): need to confirm if this can be held at the Elks . Need to develop a program that would be exciting for the boys. Older boys could help cook or run the program. Need SPL involvement.

-Eskimo Run (1/23)

-Klondike Derby (2/6)

-Winter Camping at Trimount (2/12-2/14)

-Lake Taghkanic Campout (April)

-North South Lake (6/3-6/5)

-Indian Lake (tentative 8/19-8/21, before the DC Fair week)

-trying to wait until after the wreath sale to spend money on tires for the trailer

-Rob VP looking into an Eagle sign for the troop trailer

-need poles and tops for indoor and outdoor flags as well as holders
