Next week Pastor Randall will lead chapel. Grades 3 & 4 and Mrs. Syler’s ECC class will sing. Grade 1 will recite scripture. School hymn of the month is “A Mighty Fortress is our God” and ECC hymn of the month is “God is so Good”. Offerings will go to Christians in Action. Trinity Lutheran Church & School/ECC are also supporting Christians in Action by providing boxes of food for Thanksgiving baskets to be distributed in the community. You may bring non- perishable items to chapel or the school and ECC offices.

The Thrivent 26th annual Concho Valley Golf Tournament is being held at Quicksand Golf Course on October 5th , 2013. The proceeds from this tournament benefit Trinity Lutheran School Scholarship Fund. There is still time to sign up and we need golfers! Forms are available in the office. Hole sponsor forms and player entry forms are available in the school office. This is a great way to advertise your business while supporting our school!

Don’t forget Parents Night Out tonight from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00pm! The next date for Parents Night Out is October 18th $25/child or $40/family.

Columbus Day is Oct. 14th. No school for K-8 on this day. ECC will be open!

Parent/Teacher Conferences (K-8) will be on Friday, October 18th. Attached is a conference request form for parents to fill out and return to their child’s teacher by October 9th. Parent/teachers conferences will also be held with parents of children in our preschool classes at their request. Please contact your child’s teacher if you would like to schedule an appointment.

PICTURE DAY: This year pictures will be taken by Photo Texas. All students (PK18mo. – 8th grade) will have their picture taken on Wednesday, October 30th. Chapel uniforms must be worn! Order information will be sent home soon.

Trinity Lutheran Church is sponsoring a “Trunk or Treat” Thursday, October 31st, in the church parking lot from 6-7:30 pm. Hot Dogs will be served and everyone is invited. Don’t forget, this event has a ‘Christian theme’ and so we ask that all costumes reflect this theme.

Catalog Sale – Our annual gift catalog sale began on Thurday, Oct. 24th. Catalogs will be sent home with the children on this day after a presentation at 2:30 in the gym. Order blanks and prize sheets will also be sent home and extras will be available in the School and ECC offices. Students can earn prizes based on their sales. The sale will continue through November 11. Orders must be submitted by this date to be eligible for prizes and to get the order back before Christmas break. Proceeds from the sale will be used to help fund professional growth opportunities for our teachers and purchase educational items for the classrooms.

Congratulation to our Fire Prevention Poster Winners: 3rd grade-Victor Elguezabal & Isabella Elguezabal;

4th grade – Ryan Ostrander & Ketcher Joiner; 5th grade- Alex Elguezabal & Jade Smith. Special congratulations to Alex Elguezabal who won overall 1st place and will be honored by the Rotary Club next Friday.

Congratulations also to our Punt, Pass, Kick winners; 14-15 boys- Tristan Smith; 12-13 girls – Mara Ruthenbeck;

10-11 girls – Savanna Razani; 10-11 boys – Alex Elguezabal; 8-9 boys – Victor Elguezabal; 8-9 girls -Isabella Elguezabal; 6-7 girls – Amberlyn Glasscock; 6-7 boys- Anthony Lopez. Special congratulations to Victor Elguezabal for being our school champion.

The Book Fair has ended at the school, but you can still order books online! Thepurchases that you order online will be shipped to the school at no additional cost. The online Book Fair will end on October 10th.

Trinity Lutheran School is still collecting Box Tops which can be turned into the school or church offices. Each Box Top coupon is worth 10 cents for our school. We are having a contest for the month of October ending on the 31st. The class who earns the most Box Tops will win a Class Party! The student who earns the most Box Tops will receive a special prize.

The PTL is collecting stamps for the Rachel Ray dishware at Albertson’s. For every $10 you spend, you will receive one stamp. You can turn these stamps in at the school office. Don't forget to show them your Community Partners Card when you check out for additional funding for the school. (If you don't have a card, stop by the school office.)

We have begun planning for our Oktoberfest, which will be held on October 26th from 2:30-5:30. We are asking for each family to donate two bags of candy and one cake for the cake walk. You can turnin the candy atanytime. We are asking for the cakes to be turned in on October 25th.Each teacher has selected a theme for their basket. Ask your child's teacher for more details.
