Introduction / Our Selective Trial Tests Course has been reviewed & restructured to include the Selective Preliminary Course to ensure that they are relevant, suitable & of high quality so that our students are best prepared for the 2017 Selective Schools Test. This course is a significant part of our program for Year 5/6 students who are enrolled in the Selective High School and Private School Scholarship Tests Preparation Course. For students attempting the 2017 Selective Schools Test, we have organised 10 Preliminary tests +53 Trial Test Course & 26 Extra Maths Practice Online.
Unique System / To complement our 53 offline Selective Trial Tests Course, we have started the Selective Preliminary Course of 10 tests to familiarise students with different categories of questions, techniques of answering such questions, testing & evaluation and to help them apply knowledge in assessment.
At CS Education we have a unique Blended Learning system with the Online Trial Tests as support to the offline Trial Tests. For students enrolled in the offline Trial Tests Course both parents & children can REVIEW all incorrect trial test questions online for 1 week after taking the test. This is most beneficial as parents can help children at home and monitor their progress online as well.

Small Group Tutorial / Answer sheets are computer marked & the reports give detailed information showing the marks, correct and incorrect answers and the areas the student is weak in. To reinforce understanding & learning, we have the Small Group Tutorial (Math/GA, English/Writing) every week to help students who need extra review & explanation on the tests. This enrichment & frequent feedback on each student’s results give parents more insight into their children’s progress.
Both our offline Trial Test Course & Online Trial Tests Course has been prepared to ensure your children will be best prepared for next year’s Selective High Schools Test.
Blended Learning
Trial Test Course / Why does your child need our Trial Test Course?
Our students' success depends on their attendance at these sessions & sufficient practice done over a period of time. Students not only complete the tests, but difficult questions and incorrect answers are corrected and explained to the students by teachers/tutors. The Trial Test Course will help your child to manage his/her time efficiently, minimise carelessness and overcome examination nerves. Students are taught how to perform to the best of their abilities.
Benefits / What benefits will your child have?
- Trial Test Course increases students' accuracy.
- Trial Test Course increases students' speed. (e.g. GA paper comprises 60 questions in 40 min)
- Through practising exam questions every week, students' results and ability improve.
- Weekly result sheets indicate a student's weak areas, giving immediate feedback to parents about which fields the student should concentrate on.
- Students' performance and progress are assessed accurately on a weekly basis.
The Course
Supplementary / How will the Trial Test Course be run?
The Trial Test Course commences in Term 1 2016 and continues until the 2017 Selective High Schools Test (mid March). During that period, students will complete 53 tests (26 tests per subject: G.A, Mathematics . 27 tests per subject:English, Vocabulary/Text Type & Essay Writing).
During a session, the test paper is reviewed while students’ answer sheets are being marked. Teachers/tutors explain all questions step by step so that students maintain a thorough understanding of each test question. Writing tests are marked by fully qualified English Teachers and results are returned to students in the next session with corrections, suggestions and comments.
If students’ test marksin Maths/GA or English/Writing for that week are unsatisfactory they can attend the ‘Small Group Tutorial’ session. During this session, students will re-examine the same questions which were done earlier in the week. The tutor will review the questions again to ensure students understand completely. This Small Group Tutorial is absolutely free of charge!
