- We are still owed royalties from Cotton Drilling for the gas well on the property. We are looking into a credit for gas for the amount that is still owed us.
- Discussion was also held on winterizing the clubhouse through the winter months to save money on heat and natural gas.
Dan Rettig’s report :
- Dan reported that he has been informed by the USGA that the club needs a Handicap Chairman, who is not an employee of the club. Dave McEntarfer volunteered for the job.
- Columbus Day outing – 76 golfers played and the club made over $2,150. This money will enable Pete to finish repairs on the irrigation system that was damaged by lightning last year.
- Paul Luczak and the Hengerer Tournament committee also donated $400 from the proceeds of their tournament to the irrigation repair also.
- Bill Hall reports that instead of league prizes being given out at the end of the season, the leagues have decided to donate that money to completely refurbish both sand traps on hole #3.
- The Board would like to thank all members for their generosity in donating to the maintenance and upkeep of the course.
- Dan reports that the pro shop will be officially closing on Oct. 31st. He will potentially reopen if the weather turns nice enough in November to allow play.
- Dan also gave the Board a list of needs and concerns as we head into the winter months including – parking lot repair, mold in drainage areas behind the bar in the clubhouse, the heating and air conditioning units in the clubhouse, winter maintenance of equipment, plumbing problems in the pro shop and school taxes of $20,284 that are now due.
House committee report – Tom Daniels
Discussion was held on the takeover and running of the bar and restaurant by TCCC. Cost of the obtaining a new liquor license alone would be $4,500 plus attorney’s fees. Tom Daniels presented financial details and pros and cons were discussed. A committee was put together to explore the possibility of either running the clubhouse ourselves or leasing it out, with a report to the Board and a decision to be made at the Nov. Board meeting. Members of the committee are Tom Daniels, Bob Clarke, Jeff Stoltenberg and Bill Hall.
Greens committee –
- Repairs will be completed to the irrigation system now that the money is available.
- Repairs have begun to the sand traps on hole #3 and will be completed before the winter.
- The removal of the trap and moguling alongside #18 green is now complete.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:15pm
