SUBJECT: Notice of Trespass, DNR Trespass Number (Insert Trespass Number) T (Insert Town), R (Insert Range), Section (Insert Section Number), Township, County

On (INSERT DATE OF INITIAL NOTICE), you were notified, by certified mail, that your (INSERT ITEMS IN TRESPASS) were in trespass on State-owned land in the above referenced location. That Notice (copy enclosed) indicated that you were in violation of Part 5, Department of Natural Resources, and Part 21, General Real Estate Powers, Section 324.2155 through Section 324.2158, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 Public Act 451, as amended (NREPA). The trespass and associated damage is also a violation of the Rules for the Regulation of State Lands Administered by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), R299.921 through R299.930. The Notice further indicated that the items in trespass must be removed from State-owned land and the area restored to DNR specifications by (INSERT RESTORATION DEADLINE).

The Notice also requested that you contact me, within 10 days of the original letter, to discuss your restoration plans. As of the date of this letter, a response from you has not been received and the items in trespass have not been removed.

Therefore, with this letter I am notifying you that your trespass file is being sent to our Land Use Specialist or Lansing office for escalated enforcement action. If you have any questions related to the matter, please contact me at the phone number below.
