The regular meeting of the Woodbridge Little League was called to order by President Rob Lukachyk at 8:00pm, followed by the pledge to the flag.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read. A motion was made by Rob Lukachyk, seconded by Alex Bosch, to accept the minutes as read. Motion passed.

Treasurer's Report - (Rich Lorentzen)

Total assets are $9,233.95 as of December 31, 2017. Full report to be placed on file. A motion was made by Rob Lukachyk, seconded by Anthony Terebetsky, to accept the Treasurer's Report. Motion passed.

The following was also noted:

  • All bills to date are paid.
  • Received two checks from the WTYRC; one for the 2017 Mayor's Trophy and the other for the 2018 stipend. Both checks have been deposited.
  • First installment has been paid to the insurance company.
  • Raffle license has been processed by the State and will be sent to the municipal level for approval.
  • All records prior to October 18, 2017 have been turned over to the Township for auditing.

Vice President of Softball - (Hiram Morales)

Vice President Morales was not present for the meeting but meet with President Lukachyk prior and filed the following report:

  • 2018 Summertime Sizzle Tournaments have been posted on Two (2) replies so far.
  • 2018 Summertime Sizzle Tournament schedule is as follows: 14u will be June 22 - 24; 8u will be July 6 - 8; 10u will be July 13 - 15 and 12u will be July 20 - 22.
  • Oak Avenue complex improvement wish list still being complied and will be posted online.

Player Agent - (Brett Rackett)

Player Agent Rackett was not present for the meeting but meet with President Lukachyk prior and filed the following report:

  • Total enrollment to date: 43 → 25 Boys, 18 Girls
  • Enrollment is down 51% from 2017 and down 52% from 2016.
  • Next in person registration will be on Sunday, January 21 from 11am - 2pm.
  • Recommends offering a few additional in person registration dates to help enrollment.
  • We are promoting the league via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, e-mails

and soon lawn signs.

Vice President of Baseball - (Alex Bosch)

  • Dates for clinics at Woodbridge High School are January 28, February 18 and March 4. Girls clinics will be from 12noon - 3pm, Boys clinics from 3pm - 6pm.
  • Quotes have been received for uniforms.
  • 2018 Summer Slam Tournament schedule is as follows: 8u, 10u and 12u will be from July 9 - July 18. 9u and 11u will be from July 19 - July 28. Six (6) teams per bracket.
  • Background checks will be done on all coaches, as well as, anyone who is helping with practices or working in the concession stands.

Sponsorship Solicitation Report - (Anthony Terebetsky)

Totals as of January 17, 2018

- 20 team sponsorships at $150 each = $3,000

- 7 banner renewals at $100 each = $700

- 8 new banner orders totaling - $3,300

- 1 website sponsorship at $100

- TOTAL TO DATE = $7,100

New Business

  • Discussion was held about how to get more people to work in the concession stands.
  • Discussion was held about improvements at Oak Avenue complex.

President's Report - (Rob Lukachyk)

  • Anyone interested in umpiring who has aged out of our league, contact President Lukachyk. Minimum of 13 years old.
  • President thanked the current Board for their hard work the last three (3) months since coming together.
  • Looking to add more dates for softball pitching clinics.
  • Looking for menu ideas for both concessions stands.
  • Registration announcement flyers went into the schools on January 11.
  • Lawn signs are going to be ready for pick up soon.
  • All players must be registered to participate in clinics.
  • President mention about the WTYRC encouraging leagues to consolidate if enrollment is low.
  • League will be purchasing four (4) new steel shelving units from Lowe's to provide more storage in the attic.
