Quiz / Student presentation / Written work and feedback / Verbal feedback
On completion of this term a learner should be able to:
A)Be able to travel in different ways we can move our bodies, change tempo and levels direction and also to complete different (Pin + Patch) balances etc.
B)Be able complete different gymnastic jumps and rolls without help.
C)Be able to climb apparatus and perform whilst on them. Then combine all skills we have learnt.
D)Be able to complete sequences with partner to show off all the work we have learnt.

Learning Aim A & B
1 / Introduction travelling and locomotion skills, being able to change the level we work at and also to introduce pin and patch balances. And also if they can follow simple instructions. / - Refer to link with breakdown/images of the different balances/jumps/movement etc
Warm up:
Work on Travelling around the hall using our locomotion skills, walking, jogging, skipping, galloping, jumping rolling, continuous, moving, paused movements.(freeze)
Change levels children are moving at can they work on the floor, can they work up tall can they work in between.
Ask children for idea on different balances, 1 point balances and 4 point balances, if they complete well then introduce 3 and 2 point balances. And ideas for pin and patch balances.(Patch = Back, tummy, side, bottom) (Pin = feet, hands, knees, elbows)
Mats to be placed around the hall set challenges to make numbers/shapes. Spell name etc. can you work independentlyor in Unison (partners) can mirror partner, or work in unison to make letters together.
Main session: Can you go into a sequence using a variety of locomotion skills and also pin + patch balances, can you change the level you are working at, can you work in unison to make a shape etc.
Cool down: Slow and controlled stretch with slower movements, either a brain game or reaction game or slow and controlled stretching to get rid of any lactic acid that has built up in the children's muscles. /

Continue with travelling and locomotion skills, being able to change the level we work at and, pin and patch balances introducing the log roll and maybe other roles. / Warm up: Travelling around the hall with matts placed around the hall, using all of our locomotion skills to move in different ways and also changing the level we move at. Using different animals to activate all of our muscles.
Main session: Teach children different rolls (forward roll, log roll, teddy bear roll. egg roll, and backwards roll.)
1 mat between 2 if possible. Explain techniques for each roll and demonstrate, explain health and safety issues.
Main session II: Can children start to use a variety of locomotion skills and also pin + patch balances, can you change the level you are working at, and can you work in cannon whilst completing the different rolls we have used.
Cool down: Slow and controlled stretch with slower movements, either a brain game or reaction game or slower and controlled stretching to get rid of any lactic acid that has built up in the children's muscles. /

Warm up- Travelling warm up.
Recap- start with a recap of the rolling we done in last week’s lesson, to remind chn of safety and technique.
Main session: Teach children different Jumps (Pencil jump, tuck jump, star jump, twist jump etc.)
Place children in different groups and let them practice each jump 1 at a time in their groups. Explain techniques for each jump and demonstrate, explain health and safety issues. (squishy knees)
Main session II: Can children start to use a variety of locomotion skills and also pin + patch balances, can you change the level you are working at, and can you work in cannon whilst completing the different rolls and jumps we have learnt.
Challenge children to work in cannon and incorporate balances we have learnt as well.
Cool down: Slow and controlled stretch with slower movements, either a brain game or reaction game or slow and controlled stretching to get rid of any lactic acid that has built up in the children's muscles. /

Recap of last week’s jumping and safe/ soft landings. (squishy knees)
Main session: Teach climbing and how we should climb safely on the wall bars and other apparatus we could use for gymnastics.
Place children in different groups and let them practice climbing (restrict numbers on apparatus for safety.

Challenge children to work in cannon and incorporate balances we have learnt as well.
Put children on stations to practice specific exercises to make sure the technique is perfect. And move around in a circuit format.
