TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION

Delaware Residents

Each Delaware family living more than 2 miles from Padua Academy is entitled to a transportation reimbursement from the state. Delaware law allows each school only one reimbursement per family that drives one or more students to and/or from a non-public school. If a student is driven to Padua in the morning and takes a contracted bus home in the afternoon, her family will receive one half reimbursement. If a student is driven to school in the morning and takes a DART bus home in the afternoon, her family will receive full reimbursement -- one half for driving to school and one half for the DART transportation home. Each family in a carpool will receive a transportation reimbursement. Reimbursements are sent by mail after each school year.

Delaware residents living outside of the Wilmington area may choose to transport their daughters to and/or from Padua Academy by busses contracted with Salesianum through the Lehanes Bus Company. One-way and two-way bus transportation options are available in the following areas: Hockessin, Newark, Bear, Middletown, Odessa, and Dover. Please be advised that price rates and schedules may vary slightly from year to year based on the needs of the students riding the bus.

Parents may decide that public transportation is the right fit for their daughter(s). In this case, Delaware residents are entitled to receive a reimbursement toward the cost of DART tickets. DART schedules are available on line at www.dartfirststate.com.To receive this reimbursement, families are asked to contact Mrs. Wilber before each school year.

New Jersey Residents

Families from New Jersey may also choose to transport their daughters to and/or from Padua Academy by busses contracted with Salesianum through the Lehanes Bus Company. One-way and two-way bus transportation options are available. Please see the New Jersey bus routes for more information on pick up locations and times.

PennsylvaniaResidents

Each Pennsylvania school district within ten (10) miles of Padua Academy provides transportation for its residents to and from our school each day. When a school district is not in session for any reason other than bad weather, Padua students are responsible for their own transportation to and from school. Padua Academy provides each school district with a list of students interested in bus transportation based on information provided from parents on the Transportation Form. The Pennsylvania school districts then contact the families using their services when schedules and routes are assigned. Information is listed below for the Pennsylvania school districts that provide transportation for Padua students.
