MEGT Position Description ANP - Transition and Training Officer

Objectives of the Division:

MEGT Apprenticeship Network Provider (ANP) is contracted to the Australian government through the Department of Education and Training (DET) to market and administer the Australian Apprenticeships Support Network (AASN). MEGT ANP offers a free service to employers, potential and current Australian Apprentices (includes apprentices and trainees) by:

·  providing customised pre-commencement services designed to screen, test, stream and match apprentices (and apprenticeships) to potential employers

·  completing and lodging National Training Contracts with the relevant State/Territory Training Authority

·  determining eligibility for participation and government funding

·  processing where applicable, incentive payments to employers and personal benefits and Trade Support Loans to Australian Apprentices

·  providing advice to employers and Australian Apprentices on relevant training packages

·  monitoring the progress of individual Australian Apprenticeships

·  providing tailored support such as mentoring for Australian Apprentices and employers

·  attending workplaces to provide support prior to and during the Australian Apprenticeship


Objectives of the Position:

The role of the Training & Transition Officer is to work with the Gateway & Training Coordinator to develop, maintain and administer training materials across the ANP. The role is responsible for designing online training modules and supporting materials, and completing administrative tasks within the training area to assist the ANP division to meet the requirements of the AASN contract in all areas including Universal, In-training and Gateway services, with a focus on the Australian Apprenticeship Management System (AAMS) system implementation.

The incumbent will display an understanding of adult learning principles, and familiarity with technology based learning systems, together with energy and enthusiasm for the various programs and activities of the ANP. This role would suit someone from a training administration background looking to take the next step in their career. A self-starter who can efficiently manage time frames and complete tasks in line with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), as well as being compliant with relevant guidelines, is required for this role.

Relationships:

·  Reporting to the Gateway & Training Coordinator

Working closely with the National Compliance and Quality Improvement Manager and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) throughout the division

·  Provision of training to ANP managers and staff as required

Selection Criteria:

·  Ability to design online training modules and supporting materials

·  Experience with Articulate Storyline is desirable

·  Experience in the administration of Learning Management Systems

·  Computer literacy and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (including word and excel)

·  Established writing skills with attention to detail

·  Knowledge of Sharepoint would be highly regarded

·  Sound administration and time management skills

·  Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work in a team environment and be receptive to change

·  An understanding of AASN and related programs would be advantageous

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes:

·  Ability to develop both on-line training materials and electronic learning guides and manage these via a Learning Management System

·  Qualification in Workplace Training & Assessment, or equivalent experience in this area is desirable

·  Experience in an ANP environment and understanding of AASN and related programs

·  Experience in a training role with a demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles

·  Ability to interpret and understand work instructions and apply this knowledge to the development of training materials

·  Ability to develop high quality training materials in line with training needs

·  Excellent oral and written communication skills including accurate spelling and grammar with attention to detail

·  Proven ability to self motivate, manage work priorities, meet deadlines efficiently and exceed KPIs

·  Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to undertake administrative tasks

·  Well presented with a professional, confident and friendly approach

·  Willingness to receive direction and flexibility to adapt to a changing environment

Duties and Responsibilities:

·  Update and develop both online and electronic training materials to reflect the operating environment whilst ensuring that the content meets the requirements for the role being undertaken

·  Develop and maintain training material on an ongoing basis

·  Manage the Learning Management System administration of the on-line training for the ANP

·  Complete administrative tasks within the training area

·  Review existing training materials and recommend changes as required

·  Assist with evaluation of future training needs

·  Perform other duties as required

Key Performance Indicators:

·  Your Role Your Responsibility document is updated to reflect AASN environment and delivered to staff

·  Development of online training and support materials to train staff under the AASN contractual requirements

·  Development of online training and support materials for AAMS implementation

·  Ensure online training materials are developed within in set time frames

·  Ensure that training is delivered as required

·  Administrative tasks are completed within set time frames

Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Responsibilities:

All staff are required to take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of other personnel who may be affected by their conduct.

Police Check:

All ANP staff are required to undertake a National Police Check prior to commencing employment. A State/Territory Working with Children or Working with Vulnerable People Check may also be required by any applicable State/Territory legislation. A clearance to work with children in connection with the delivery of Network Support Services is mandatory. The National Police Check must be renewed every two years as a minimum.
