ABSTRACT CRITERIA

The following criteria provides guidance for people submitting abstracts and for member of the Scientific Committee’s Peer Review Panel

Abstract Component / Description
Title / No more than 250 words. The title clearly articulates the proposed presentation and would be readily found using an electronic search engine
Background
Why this topic is important? / Provides background information on importance of the topic; how it relates to current knowledge, practice or literature; and concludes with a statement of purpose or the question to be addressed in the paper, workshop or poster.
Method
A description of what was done / Provides a summary of how the activity was undertaken, the persons involved, the resources or equipment, etc required, and how the processes or outcomes were documented and evaluated. Quantitative, qualitative or mixed methods are equally acceptable, so long as they are appropriate to the question or issue to be addressed and are robust in their design. Review papers, or papers based on critical thought are acceptable. Workshop activities should be briefly described.
Results
What happened or what was found? / Provides a brief summary of findings or conclusions to be presented in paper, symposia, poster or workshop. For workshop proposals, the author should describe the learning outcomes that participants can expect to attain.
Conclusions / Implications
What does this mean and how might others use this information? / Provides a statement or conclusion by the author(s) concerning the significance of the findings or the conclusions they have reached, and their potential application or impact.
Overall quality of abstract / The abstract is well organized and presented according to the submission guidelines. It provides sufficient detail to enable conference delegates to determine its relevance to their individual areas of interest.
