Training Guidelines

Please submit a 2-page outline of the training using the format included in this application.

REGISTERED OUTLINE FORMAT

I.Title of Training: This title will be used on the attendance roster and on the certificates you give to participants. It will identify the training in the personnel registry.

II.Topic Area of Training: Appropriate topics include child growth and development, curriculum activities, child guidance, health, safety, nutrition, professional development, program administration and special needs. Only one topic area should be selected for an outline.

  1. Number of Clock Hours of Training: This is the number of contact hours of the training. Do not include breaks or meals.
  1. Learning Objectives: List at least 3 specific intended learning outcomes. The objectives should be stated as what the participant will learn and then be able to do as a result of

the training. (For example, ”The participant will be able to list the seven steps in

changing diapers appropriately.”) The objectives should be specific as in the above example. “Know about diaper changing” is not specific.

V.Benefits to Participants: Clearly describe how the content of the training will help participants in their daily work.

VI.Content: List the main points of the content for each objective.

The content should (a) be consistent with the objectives and what you want the participants to learn and be able to do, (b) proceed step by step in order to facilitate learning, (c) connect the skills/activities taught to the appropriate age group, and (d) describe how the participants can use the information in their current positions.

VII.Instructional Plan: Describe the methods and procedures that you will use to

deliver the training. Be specific and describe the training in the order in which you will present the information. For example, “After a mini lecture on the importance of proper diapering procedures, we will watch 7 minutes of the video ‘It’s Not Just Routine’. Then I will demonstrate diapering and the participants will compare my demonstration to the steps in the video. We will then do a small group activity to put cards with the steps in the proper order.”

VIII.Materials Needed: List all of the materials you will use for the presentation.

IX.Training Development Resources and References: List the resources you used to develop the presentation. Include title, author, pages and date of publication.

  1. Method(s) of Evaluation: Identify how the trainer will know if the objectives have been met and how the participants will evaluate the training.
