STUDENT NECESSITIES

  1. Please note: the College accepts no responsibility for injury, loss of life or property incurred by students or their families.
  2. NOTE: Students must arrive ON TIME for the opening of the College.
  3. FOREIGN STUDENTS must have valid study permits or they will be asked to return home. There is NO exception to this.
  4. Students must make their own travel arrangements. The College is unable to collect students from Johannesburg. Luxliner buses stop in Benoni. Students should take the train or a taxi to Benoni Station and from there to the Campus at Plot 14, Cloverdene Road, Cloverdene. In cases of emergencies, students may contact Theo Rappard at 083 608 8221 FROM THE BENONI STATION OR BENONI BUS STOP who will try to arrange collection from there. Taxis to the College are also available from there.
  5. A reputable, fairly literal translation of the Bible for class room work, eg. New American Standard Bible, Revised Standard Version, English Standard Version, New King James or English Standard Bible. NOTE: New International, Good News Bible, Easy-to-Read or similar Bibles may not be used in the classroom and are not acceptable for study purposes and should be used for comparison purposes only.
  6. Students are responsible for their own school supplies B note pads, pens, pencils, paper clips, high-lighters, colour pencils, stapler, 2-hole punch, files, ruler, pens, eraser, etc.
  7. Bedding B sheets, pillows, four blankets and sleeping bag or duvet per person. Night temperatures are below zero in the winter months.
  8. Clothes= hangers, bath towels, face cloths.
  9. Money for personal needs, such as: soap, deodorant, tooth paste, hair spray, toilet paper, laundry bag, washing powder, pegs, ink cartridges etc. The College does not supply these.
  10. IMPORTANT: Your assignments HAVE TO BE TYPED. You must take typing lessons! The College is NOT able to provide students with typing equipment B you must provide your own computer or type writer or bring money to purchase such. If you cannot type your own assignments you may have to hire someone to do it for you. The cost of such a service could be between R10 and R20 per page.
  11. Students MUST HAVE THEIR OWN comprehensive Oxford or Webster=s Dictionary. A pocket version is too small for your College work and is therefore not acceptable.
  12. Students are responsible for their own medical needs and must provide their own medication such as Aspirin, cough mixtures etc. The College is only equipped to provide emergency first aid.
  13. Warm clothing for winter B this is essential as winters are cold with temperatures dropping at times to minus 8 degrees Celsius.
  14. Single students will be required to pay a R350 refundable maintenance and key deposit upon arrival at the College.
  15. You will need to pay for your own visa renewal and your transport home, where applicable.
