Very useful. I enjoyed the presentation style and the subject expertise. Excellent – should be mandatory for all staff. The trainer was very informative. Very informative and useful for my job role. It helped me understand why the LGBT community may not disclose hate crime against themselves. I gained information that I will be able to share with my colleagues – it was a very well-presented afternoon. All of the session was enjoyable and useful and gave me more of an understanding of the issues. I enjoyed the content of the course and the way it was shared. Very useful and informative – a lot of information was packed into the afternoon; I particularly enjoyed the group discussions. The follow up from discussions could have done with more time. I thought I knew quite a lot, but the course showed me that there is always more to learn. Very interesting and well hosted. The trainer’s mode of presentation and humour made it easy to digest – enjoyable and informative. I found the defining of words and seeing what other organisations are doing useful. The content was extremely useful, the history was very interesting and it was helpful to know the language to use/avoid and the barriers to reporting.

Thanks – I thought the session was very well delivered; the trainer is very well informed! You have encouraged me to support our LGBT students, thank you. A relatable speaker with comprehensive knowledge and an obvious personal interest. A useful session – cleared up some definitions and ways to improve our dealing with LGBT students. Very informative and detailed and would be great to have a little more info on non-binary people. It was useful to learn new terminology and some history. Informative and useful to staff not in regular contact with LGBT students. Thank you. I valued the history and learning about its consequences and would like more on the needs of young LGBT people. It was a great chance to discuss these issues. Very informative – thank you. I found the history section less useful than the second half. A good session with lots of information. The interactive sections were particularly useful. Provided a good understanding of appropriate terms. Enjoyed having time for reflection and seeing options to employ LGBT issues in sessions.

Notts Police (10 people) June 2017

Helpful and informative. Expanded my knowledge of this area. I liked the different training styles and the relaxed and open discussion within the group – the trainer was very knowledgeable about the subject and how certain aspects can be used to advise the people we speak to on the phone. Very informative and interesting, especially the information about changing attitudes over the years. The short video was very good and would be good for new recruits and public-facing staff – the training could be part of training for new staff. I particularly enjoyed the history and the group work. Very interesting perspective, in many ways also transferrable to other minority groups. I enjoyed the varied day and the awareness around terminology; it was very helpful and informative – I believe this training should be mandatory. I learnt a few things like “coming out” and listening to people’s experiences. The old facts and laws – unbelievable! Great takeaway pack. Very well-presented. Very helpful and informative, interactive, lots of information shared – excellent presenter. It was very helpful, informative and inclusive, looking at the history and the present day – the whole thing made us think about the issues.

Thank you – everyone should experience this training. Lots of information I didn’t know as out there – made me think about how many older persons could be gay and hide it. Thank you – well-researched and presented. Some useful suggestions which can be easily implemented. Some good exercises to make people think and to start off discussions. Excellent – very informative. Very useful and interesting. Great training – we need to get more info at the Council. Really interesting and I enjoyed the humour. Enjoyed the group work and looking into the history of LGBT – thank you. Nicely paced, informative and well-delivered. A fascinating insight into the LGBT community delivered in a passionate and informative way. Very knowledgeable trainer, captivating at times – thoroughly enjoyable, thank you. Very interesting and informative afternoon looking at various aspects of LGBT I had never thought about. I like the balance between information and interaction and how David came round to get our answer and so didn’t have to shout in front of a big group. Very interesting and stimulating, especially “the views of Queen Victoria”! Very informative training, learned new things; also never realised about “coming out” and how many times it happens – well presented. Fantastic and informative : despite running and LGBT service and delivering LGBT training myself I went away with a fresh view and new information for practice. Attended David’s training in 2008 – which inspired and encouraged the establishment of WOW. Really enjoyed this training; very informative. Like the discussion activities; relaxed and well structures, thought provoking. Thank you very much.
