Training Announcement

The Tribal Justice Information Sharing System (TJISS) is pleased to announce that we are accepting registrations for a free two day Crime Data Collection and Reporting training course to be delivered in Wyandotte, Oklahoma on February 27 – 28, 2013. The course trains criminal justice practitioners how to collect and report crime data by use of UCR and NIBRS. Instruction is provided by FBI, CJIS instructors. Tribes having grant funds with a travel budget can utilize these funds for travel to attend this training.

Who may attend:

·  Law Enforcement personnel, sworn or non-sworn.

·  Prosecuting attorneys and their staff members

·  Judges and judicial (court) personnel

·  Probation and Parole; and

·  Personnel working for community based organizations that work with criminal justice agency personnel on crime and justice issues.

Class information

This is a two (2) day hands-on course sponsored by the Wyandotte Nation tribal police department and presented by the Criminal Justice Institute (CJI), University of Arkansas System.

Participants will learn best practices in collecting crime data; benefits in reporting data; classifying crime data; preparing for the reporting process; and the different methods available in reporting crime data.
