Summer Staff Job Description
Kid’s Klub Wrangler
Reports To
Kid’s Klub Director, Guest Services Coordinator and Summer Staff Coordinator.
Qualifications
· Completed one year of college or age similar
· Must display a mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
Job Responsibilities
1. The Kid’s Klub Wrangler has the responsibility, privilege and duty to assist the Kid’s Klub Director with every aspect of the Trail West Kid’s Klub program.
2. Specific duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:
3. Understand the purpose of Kid’s Klub within the context of Young Life's Family Camp.
4. Minister to kids in the program by:
a. Learning all the names of the kids in your group.
b. Praying for the kids in your group by name everyday.
c. Finding every opportunity to affirm the kids and make them feel loved.
d. Being a warm and loving representative of Jesus Christ.
5. Help to carry out the day to day activities of Kid’s Klub including, but not limited to:
a. Setting up for all activities.
b. Leading assigned crafts, games, hikes, etc.
c. Cleaning up after all activities.
d. Attending daily planning meetings.
6. Care for guest children under age three in the Trail West nursery.
7. Help plan and implement activities for children during Kid’s Klub each evening.
8. Assist with the supervision of the Work Crew assigned to Kid’s Klub.
9. Assist with various other jobs and projects around Trail West as needed.
Summer Staff Responsibilities
In addition to the aforementioned tasks all Summer Staff members are also expected to participate in other activities including, but not limited to:
1. Contact work with all guests, especially teenagers: learn their names, get to know them, help them to feel included and a part of camp
2. Assist program as needed; round up, kids klub, activities, carnival, tableau, etc….
3. Work Crew/Summer Staff Night: you may be asked to give your testimony
4. Young Life Club, as requested: sing, play up the program
5. Kids Klub Activities: set-up and run games, help kids as needed, run events
Dress:
Comfortable and clean work clothes - jeans, shorts and t-shirts (see Appearance in the Summer Staff Expectations information). You will need a western (not hillbilly) outfit for Welcome.
