Meeting brought to order at 7:30pm
- Announcements: general meetings are now bi-monthly. General meetings in 2012 will be held in Jan., March, May, July, Sept., and Nov. Board Meetings are also bi-monthly, alternating with the General Meeting. Officers serve from November to November.
- Introduction of Dave & Roxanne: Experienced staff from BCRP, just new in role w/ TRC. We welcome them to TRC, they also will be covering Towsontowne Rec. Kate was thanked for her years of excellent service and support of TRC. Dave urged everyone to feel free to approach him, he wants to work with us in every way. Dave has met with the principals and administrators at associated schools and looks forward to getting to know everyone.

- Mark Mettrick Soccer Camp
- Provided budget
- Will hold free coaches’ clinic for fall soccer
- Approved as affiliate to allow field use
- Background Checks & Payment for coaches
- All coaches who are paid, must have a background check (online case search is fine.)
- All coaches must be paid EITHER as Baltimore County Employees or as an independent contractor (1099) with a signed contract in place.
- Equipment Shed
- Will build shelves to better organize equipment
- Perhaps a dehumidifier is needed to eliminate mold issue
- Needs to be cleaned out and junk removed to provide space
- Sub-committee agreed to meet and further plan inside shed
- Football Helmet Donation
- $10K donation from two anonymous parents
- Able to purchase 140 new helmets w/ safer technology
- This will be “highlight of the month.”
- Towson Times coverage anticipated
- Treasurer’s Report
- Reports should be emailed in future
- Perhaps software plug-in available?
- Too labor intensive as is to do monthly emailed reports
- Deposits
- Email Ben when deposit is made to ensure proper accounting
- Manual process of delivering to bank and dropping off slip also labor intensive
- Budgets
- Purpose is to make sure programs operate in black
- Budgets due at end of March for summer camps and fall programs
- Towson University Fields
- Fields free, but parking costs high
- Negotiated a blanket fee of $2K (to be taken from 2 LAX programs) to cover all parking
- TU continues to be an excellent community partner
- Program Reports
- Girls LAX: Started this week; only problem was fraudulent birth dates to play down!
- Boys LAX: Started this week
- Girls Basketball: finished this week; Jenna Gans award went to Ally Sheedy
- Baseball: April 21st is opening day
- Dance: Recital is 5/28 at THS Auditorium
- Indoor Tennis: Winding down
- Outdoor Tennis: Opens 4/26 at Forge Park
- Football: happy!
- Fencing: “Poking” along
