Meeting brought to order at 7:30pm

  1. Announcements: general meetings are now bi-monthly. General meetings in 2012 will be held in Jan., March, May, July, Sept., and Nov. Board Meetings are also bi-monthly, alternating with the General Meeting. Officers serve from November to November.
  2. Introduction of Dave & Roxanne: Experienced staff from BCRP, just new in role w/ TRC. We welcome them to TRC, they also will be covering Towsontowne Rec. Kate was thanked for her years of excellent service and support of TRC. Dave urged everyone to feel free to approach him, he wants to work with us in every way. Dave has met with the principals and administrators at associated schools and looks forward to getting to know everyone.

  13. Will hold free coaches’ clinic for fall soccer
  14. Approved as affiliate to allow field use
  15. Background Checks & Payment for coaches
  16. All coaches who are paid, must have a background check (online case search is fine.)
  17. All coaches must be paid EITHER as Baltimore County Employees or as an independent contractor (1099) with a signed contract in place.
  18. Equipment Shed
  19. Will build shelves to better organize equipment
  20. Perhaps a dehumidifier is needed to eliminate mold issue
  21. Needs to be cleaned out and junk removed to provide space
  22. Sub-committee agreed to meet and further plan inside shed
  23. Football Helmet Donation
  24. $10K donation from two anonymous parents
  25. Able to purchase 140 new helmets w/ safer technology
  26. This will be “highlight of the month.”
  27. Towson Times coverage anticipated
  28. Treasurer’s Report
  29. Reports should be emailed in future
  30. Perhaps software plug-in available?
  31. Too labor intensive as is to do monthly emailed reports
  32. Deposits
  33. Email Ben when deposit is made to ensure proper accounting
  34. Manual process of delivering to bank and dropping off slip also labor intensive
  35. Budgets
  36. Purpose is to make sure programs operate in black
  37. Budgets due at end of March for summer camps and fall programs
  38. Towson University Fields
  39. Fields free, but parking costs high
  40. Negotiated a blanket fee of $2K (to be taken from 2 LAX programs) to cover all parking
  41. TU continues to be an excellent community partner
  42. Program Reports
  43. Girls LAX: Started this week; only problem was fraudulent birth dates to play down!
  44. Boys LAX: Started this week
  45. Girls Basketball: finished this week; Jenna Gans award went to Ally Sheedy
  46. Baseball: April 21st is opening day
  47. Dance: Recital is 5/28 at THS Auditorium
  48. Indoor Tennis: Winding down
  49. Outdoor Tennis: Opens 4/26 at Forge Park
  50. Football: happy!
  51. Fencing: “Poking” along
