CONSTRUCTION DUMPSTER IS AT THE TOWN OF WEST POINT RECYCLING CENTER IN THE MONTHS OF MAY AND SEPTEMBER EACH YEAR – Shingles, plaster, drywall, carpet, pad, wall tile, toilets, furniture,insulation, mattresses, sinks, box springs will be taken at that time .

RULES AND REGULATIONS

  1. Refuse Containers for use by West Point residents and taxpayers only.
  2. All Recyclable materials shall be deposited into proper containers. All garbage in clear bags!
  3. What to Recycle and what items can be taken at the recycling center at a charge are listed below:

ALUMINUM CANS – All types, clean, empty, crushed or not.

TIN CANS AND SPRAY CANS – All types, clean, labels off, flattened or not.

CARDBOARD – Corrugated Non Wax, any type, clean, flattened. Remove any wax or plastic liners.

PLASTIC – Containers, Bottles/Jars ONLY (LABELS #1 THRU #7) -, rinsed clean. At this time, plastic grocery/shopping bags are not recyclable.

GLASS – Bottles/Jars ONLY – rinse clear, remove caps and separate by color – clear, brown, green.

PAPER – Newspaper, Magazines, OfficePaper, Junk Mail, Telephone Books, Cereal Boxes, Beer and Soda Cartons – clean and dry ONLY – bag, bundle or tied.

BATTERIES -All types, Car, Radio, Flashlight, etc.

SCRAP METAL – Iron & Tin – any metal – Nails, Pipe, Cast & Sheet Meta, Rods, Stoves, Dishwashers, Washers, and Dryers.

To Be Putin Metal Dumpster.

CO-COMPOST TO COUNTY – Normal household waste. "Garbage" – empty of all Recyclables, bagged in clear plastic garbage bags.

NOT ACCEPTED: Hazardous materials, Medical Waste, Pesticides, Herbicides, Liquid Paint, Used Motor Oil, Old Gasoline, Tires, Brake Fluid, Anti-Freeze, Explosives and Driveway Sealer.

NON RECYCLABLE – Collectively Separated – Mirrors, Clay Pots, Ceramics, Light Bulbs, Window Glass, Rubber Hoses, Furnace Filters, Waxed Cardboard, and Plastic Toys.

To be put in construction dumpster.

TREE LIMBS AND BRUSH WILL BE ACCEPTED AND BURNED WEST POINT.

GRASS CLIPPINGS, LEAVES, AND PINE NEEDLES WILL NOT BE DEPOSITED IN THE BURN PILE. THEY SHOULD BE BAGGED AND PUT ON THE LEAF PILE.
