Town of Trinity Council Meeting June 27, 2016

The Town of Trinity met at a regularly scheduled council meeting June 27, 2016 in the Trinity Municipal Building with the meeting being called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Mayor Vaughn Goodwin.

Members present were Chris Lemley, Mayor Vaughn Goodwin, Scott Owens, Richard Fortson Jr., and Gordon Burden. Absent was Ben Moultrie.

Motion made to approve the minutes from the last council meeting June 13, 2016 by Chris with a 2nd by Scott. Voting yes were Chris, Mayor Goodwin, Scott and Gordon. Richard abstained.

Motion made to approve the minutes from the last work session meeting June 13, 2016 by Chris with a 2nd by Scott. Voting yes were Chris, Mayor Goodwin, Scott and Gordon. Richard abstained.

Motion made to pay the attached bills in the amount of $11,546.06 by Chris with a 2nd by Gordon. All voter yes.

Motion made to take into immediate consideration Ordinance 2016-01 establishing the use of electronic vote counting systems in Municipal Elections by Richard Fortson Jr. with a 2nd by Scott Owens. Voting yes were Chris Lemley, Mayor Vaughn Goodwin, Scott Owens, Richard Fortson Jr., and Gordon Burden. Voting no were none.

Motion made to adopt Ordinance 2016-01 by Richard Fortson Jr. with a 2nd by Gordon Burden. Chris Lemley, Mayor Vaughn Goodwin, Scott Owens, Richard Fortson Jr., and Gordon Burden. Voting no were none.

Motion made to approve paying $27,561.80 to Pugh Wright McAnally, Inc. for CE&I fees for Old Highway 24 by Richard with a 2nd by Chris. All voted yes.

Motion made to approve application from David Ethan Stewart for the Trinity Volunteer Fire Department by Richard with a 2nd by Gordon. All voted yes. Background check was good.

Motion made to approve the Mayor and Fire Chief to sign a Fire Department Memorandum of Understanding between the fire departments in Morgan County, note item #4 Decatur will not serve without permission in the police jurisdiction with the exception of the landfill that will be a co-response, by Richard with a 2nd by Chris. All voted yes.

Motion made to pay Johnson Bates and Legg an additional $780.00 for dirt delivered to the soccer field by Richard with a 2nd by Chris. All voted yes.

Motion to approve $6,093.00 for the purchase of a solar power compact trailer mounted Radar Speed Monitor from K&K Systems for the Police Department by Richard with a 2nd by Chris. All voted yes.

The Mayor announced that the 2015 Audit is complete and each council member received a copy. The Dodge Charger bid on GovDeals did not go through so it was listed again and currently the bid is at $3,500.00. We did receive an email from Saputo they are waiting on our final proposal. Chris Lemley has offered to put the information together and submit to them.

Motion made to adjourn by Chris with a 2nd by Scott at 7:12 p.m. with all voting yes.
