Town of Grand Falls-Windsor Announces Remaining Salmon Festival Details

CouncillorDarren Finn, Chair of the 2015 Exploits Valley Salmon Festival, announced today that the kickoff event for the festival, the Salmon Dinner, will take place on Thursday, July 9th beginning at 6:30 with cocktails at the Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium. Tickets are on sale now at the Recreation Department Offices Upstairs at the Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium and the Town Hall. Tickets are $35 each and CouncillorFinn anticipates a rush on ticket sales for this event and encourages patrons to get their tickets early.

The Mount Peyton Hotel will cater the salmon dinner and the Newfoundland Aquaculture Industries Association (NAIA) will supply mussels for the event. Local band “Clever” will perform as well at the dinner.

Headlining the Friday Night Tribute Dance on July 10thwill be an AllGirl Guns & Roses Tribute band. Thisband is a true-to-form tribute, showcasing the nuances and electricity of Guns & Roses live in concert. Special guests this year is Kelly Ann Evans. Tickets are on sale now at selected retailers in the area (see attached list). Advance tickets are $15, with prices set at $20 at the door. The dance begins at 10pm and runs until 3am.

Councillor Finn also announced that this year’sNewfie Night will take place on Sunday, July 12thbeginning at 4pm with traditional Newfoundland Foods and Music. Patrons will be entertained again this year with the “Screech In” at 8pm, followed by Fergus & Fergus, an act that will get you off your feet and clapping your hands.Patrons can dance the night away to favorites Landlocked, who continue to deliver authentic covers of favorite songs enjoyed by Newfoundlanders everywhere. Tickets are $7 Advance and $10 at the Door and are available at selected retailers in the area (see attached list) and are also on sale now.

Monday, July 13th is Grand Falls-Windsor Family Day and several events will take place on High Street, beginning at 1pm. Drop down and bring the entire family for a Free Day of entertainment from Terry Reilly’s Teddy Bear Picnic, Ray’s Reptiles, Fergus & Fergus, the Leslie Oake Dancers, as well as LCW Wrestling and Danielle Knustgraichen: Juggler. There will also be a Community BBQ as well.

The Exploits Valley Salmon Festival has been entertaining hundreds of thousands of people for over 30 years and we look forward to another great five days in July.
