Tournament Rules
Stinger Wood Bat Classic – Powered By PBR - July 28-30

  • This is a 14-15u, 16-17u two division tournament.
  • There is a four game guarantee (weather pending of course) for all teams. There is a chance a couple teams may play a fifth or sixth game if they advance on Sunday.
  • All teams must be prepared to play Friday by 11:00 AM (local teams will get the first 11:00 AM slots) through Sunday 3:30 and 6pm (Start of final) of the Stinger Wood Bat Classic. We understand teams are traveling from far distances and need later games, however we can not accommodate every request. Our No. 1 priority is getting the tournament in and all the games played.
  • All games will abide by National Federation (NFHS) Baseball Rules.
  • All pool games Home/Away team decided by coin toss between coaches or umpires before game.
  • All games seven innings, two hour time limit (no NEW inning shall start after two hours from first pitch). If game is completed (7 full innings) under 2 hours and tied on Friday or Saturday it will remain a tie.
  • Run Limit: 12 after four complete innings. 10 after five complete innings. 8 after six complete.
  • The two hour time limit remains in effect during playoffs. Extra Innings (or beyond 2 hr time limit) in playoffs: Runner will start on 2nd base, no outs last batted out of previous inning. EX: 6 innings completed beyond 2 hours and score is 15-15, the 7th inning now becomes the "extra inning".
  • EH/DH is allowed. Lineup Flexibility is encouraged between coaches. As long as coaches discuss and make clear to umpires what they’ll be using in game it is permitted ex.) EH/DH, Re-Entry is permitted if player remains in same lineup position. Our goal is player exposure and opportunity so we encourage hitting 10 players if possible (One DH for pitcher and one EH who can move freely as a defensive substitution. EH may hit anywhere in the lineup.
  • Courtesy runner for both the pitcher and the catcher may be used at any time but not mandatory. Courtesy runner must be someone not currently in the lineup. If that player is not ready to run, move on, as it defeats the purpose of "speeding up" the game.
  • Any participant (player, coach, spectator, etc.) ejected from a game will have their actions reviewed by Tournament Director/PBR Staff/Umpires in order to determine if further action will be taken. Such action may include future game suspension or complete suspension for the remainder of the tournament.
  • All Umpires will be treated with the upmost respect, regardless of coaches or spectators opinions during or after games. All umpires are working for the Prep Baseball Report for their assigned tournament and will be treated in such a manor. Remember however, that our tournaments our about the players and arguing calls will not be tolerated by our staff.
  • Bats:WOODBAT ONLY
  • Pool Play Tie Breakers for Seeding: Head to Head, Run Differential, Runs Allowed, Runs Scored, Coin Toss will be the order to determine tie breakers.
  • Each Team will Play Three games between Friday - Saturday. Two teams are playing 4 games due to an odd number in the brackets. Their fourth game does not effect these teams seeding rules.
  • Rain/Refund Policy: Weather plays a factor in any outdoor sporting event, the same holds true for our tournaments. Our staff will always do everything, within reason, to complete each game and tournament to the best of our ability without risking the safety of anyone involved (players, coaches, fans, crews, field integrity). Should weather play a part in the cancellation of any event, below are PBR’s refund and rain out policies.
  • Should rain cancel any teams 3rd pool play game, rules will revert back to everyone's first two games for seeding. Should rain cancel any teams 2nd and 3rd pool play game, rules will revert back to everyone's first game played for seeding. This will make for a completely fair opportunity for everyone. All pool play games will have significant importance.

+Should weather cause an event to be completely canceled having played no games all teams will receive their paid entrance fee (aside from a $160 non-refundable processing and handling fee),refunded to their organization within 14 days of tournament cancellation.

+Should an event be canceled by Prep Baseball Report New York, LLC; for any reason other than weather, prior to the start of the tournament, teams will receive a refund of 100% of their total tournament entrance fee within 14 days of the cancellation.
+Should just one game be played before an event is canceled, due to weather, a refund will be issued for 50% of the value the participating team paid to play in the event.
