TOURNAMENT RULES & REGULATIONS

1. The festival will be organised and run by Caerphilly Castle Ladies & Girls F.C, who shall be in complete authority in all matters relating to the control, operation and progress of the festival. All protests or complaints shall be made to the festival committee whose decision will be final and binding. NB. Teams and players playing in the wrong age or category will be disqualified from the tournament.

2. All teams will be made up of ten players; seven players and three substitutes. If a club wishes to bring 1 or 2 additional players this will be allowed however a £3 surcharge per player will apply.

3. Games for U7 to U11 games will be 5 minutes each way with 1 minute for half time. U13 to Ladies games will be 10 minutes straight through. U7 to U11 games will be played on a festival basis i.e. there will be no overall winner. U13 to Ladies age groups will be competitive tournaments with a final and overall winner. (3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw). Match durations are subject to change.

4. All games will be played in accordance with the laws and spirit of the game. In all age groups the substitutes may be used on a roll on roll off basis.

5. There will be no off-side
5a. There will be no penalties
5b. All free kicks will be indirect and the opposition should be at least three yards away
5c. All throws will be taken in the normal way (U13, U15, U16s, and Ladies) will be penalised for foul throws)
5d. The penalty area extends 10 yards from the goal line across the full width of the playing area regardless of its size, unless otherwise marked out.

6. Goal-keepers
6a. Can handle the ball in the penalty area and there are no restrictions on the number of steps they may take when holding the ball,
6b. Cannot handle the ball outside the penalty area,
6c. U7to U11 age group may throw or kick from hands, U13, U15, U16s & Ladies can only throw or kick off the floor
6d. All age groups may kick the ball on the ground but may then be challenged by opponents.
6e. Players may pass to their own goalkeeper, for the goalkeeper to handle the ball.

7. The ball shall be a size 3 for U7, U9, Size 4 for U11, U13 & size 5 forU15, U16s and ladies.

8. Choice of ends for kick off will be by tossing a coin.

9. The FIFA on pitch dress code shall apply. NO socks around ankles will be allowed. Shin pads must be worn. No earrings, necklaces, watches or jewellery to be worn. Players will not be permitted to play if not adhering to this ruling.

10. Changing facilities will be available although no kit or personal possessions will be allowed to be left in the changing rooms.

11. All participating players shall receive a medal for taking part.

12. There will be trophies awarded for the U13, U15, U16s and Ladies.overall tournament winner U13, U15, U16s & Ladies runner-up & medals awarded for all U7 to U11 age group players.

Registration is 9 a.m. Coaches briefing 9.45 a.m. Kick off 10 a.m.
