Tournament Rules:
1.) All games of round robin play are 3 – 20 minute runtime periods. The play-off games will be 3 – 20 minute periods, with the first 2 periods being runtime. The third period is 10 minute runtime and ten minute stop time if within 5 goals.
2.) There will be a flood after every two periods of play during the tournament.
3.) There will be a 3 minute warm up before each game. Warm up clock will start, regardless of whether teams are on the ice ready to play. Any team not ready to play at the assigned time will forfeit the game. Pucks will be provided for both teams.
4.) All minor penalties will be 2 minutes during stop time, 3 minutes during run time. Major penalties will be 6 minutes running time & 5 minutes stop time.
5.) Teams will be allowed 1 time out per game, stopping the clock for maximum of 30 seconds. Injuries to a player on the ice will result in the clock
6.) Round robin game winners will be awarded $70 skins for a win. Tied games will result in a shoot-out. Both of the team’s skins monies will be increased by an additional $5. Losses will result $40 skins. Skins money won in round robin play will determine the advancement to play-offs, which will consist of the top 2 teams from each pool advancing.
a. If the teams are tied at the end of the game, a shoot-out will commence.
b. Three players will be selected from each team to shoot.
c. The team that scored the first goal of the game will get the first shot.
d. If the game is still tied after the first round of shooters, teams will alternate one shooter at a time until the tie is broken. All players on the score sheet and dressed for the game must shoot once before any player may shoot a second time.
7.) Home team will wear white jerseys unless agreed upon by both teams.
8.) In the event of a tie after the round robin, the first tie breaker will be head to head. If still tied we will go to goals for minus goals against & any game with more than a ten point goal differential, no goals will be calculated beyond the 10 goal spread. If still tied, the team with the least amount of penalty minutes will win. If still tied a coin toss by the Captains will determine the winner.
9.) Referee harassment from teams, parents and /or other spectators will NOT be tolerated and the offending individuals may be barred from the arena at the discretion of the tournament officials.
10.) After each game during Round Robin play, the players will line up on the blue line for the presentation of the Game MVP. The coaches will select who will be awarded the Game MVP award.
