TOUR OF WEST NORFOLK WITH THE 20-GHOST CLUB

This year our 36th annual joint tour of the two societies will be to West Norfolk. The London Chapter last visited the county in 1995 so we might retrace some old ground, but not many of the houses visited then. The 20-Ghost Club will, as always, be providing their magnificent pre-war Rolls Royce motorcars for us.
Through a network of friends and contacts we intend visiting some of the great Norfolk palaces, such as Sandringham, Holkham, Blickling, and Houghton, as well as several houses not generally open to the public, such as Sennowe Park. We will also include some gardens, a collection of vintage cars, and one or two of Norfolk’s spectacular mediaeval churches. The tour will be based at The Knights Hill Hotel, on the eastern edge of King’s Lynn; there are very few hotels in this part of the country, and the Knights Hill is far better than our usual type.
The tour will start after breakfast on Saturday 24 May and end late afternoon on Monday 26 May. Trains from King’s Cross to King’s Lynn take well under two hours, and the hotel is a short taxi journey from the station. Please do NOT book any train tickets until your place on the tour has been confirmed.
The cost will be £540.00 per person sharing (the hotel is more expensive than our usual) and will include B&B for the nights of Friday 23, Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 May, lunch on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, dinner on Saturday & Sunday evenings, drinks at most meals, and house entrance fees. Single rooms are available at an additional supplement of £45 per person. The hotel is also happy to provide B&B for the nights of Thursday 22 and Monday 26 May, as well as dinner on Friday evening, should these be required; if so, individuals will be responsible for booking and paying for them directly with the hotel.

We plan to allocate places during the week of 8April so please return the form by 31March. If the tour is oversubscribed, priority will be given to those who have not been on previous tours. We trust this will be yet another memorable weekend.
