Steel Chemicals Stone Water-Guard is the best solution available today for the prevention of erosion and soiling. Being water repellent Steel Chemicals Stone Water-Guard prevents the ingress of water and eradicates the harmful effects of damp and frost as well as preventing the growth of moss, algae and moulds. Its surface sealing properties allow it to withstand greasy soiling and the deposits caused by atmospheric pollution.

There are many different applications e.g. treatment of natural stone, cement renders, porous tiles, Grout, spalling brickwork, pavements, roofing, etc. Any material given early protection will retain its original colour and texture, whilst older structures will stay neat and clean for much longer.

Chemical Nature

·  Acrylic copolymer in aqueous phase.

Precautions

·  Do not dilute or mix with other products.

·  Do not apply on organic, metallic and waterproof materials.

·  Do not apply during rain or frost, and when surface and air temperature is < 5C and > 30C.

·  Store in a cool, dry place.

·  Storage 24 months from production date when kept in the original unopened container.

Application Equipment

·  Brush, roller or a low pressure spray unit.

Application

·  Substrates must always be clean, dust-free and dry.

·  Always test out the product on a small hidden portion of the substrate.

·  Use the product directly from the container.

·  Shake the container well before use.

·  The substrate must be impregnated to point of saturation in a single application or in two “wet on wet” applications with a thirty minute interval.

·  Do not over apply the product. Remove all excess before drying.

·  On vertical substrates, always apply from the bottom up.

·  Drying time: visually dry in 20-90 minutes, but full water repellence takes 24 hours.

·  Optimum effectiveness (e.g. chewing gum and graffiti removal) obtained after 7 days.

·  Clean equipment with warm, detergent/water immediately after use.

Maintenance

·  Domestic stains can be cleaned with a neutral detergent and scrubbing brush.
