TOPIC: WIZARD OF OZ

Come see the East View spring musical! Under the direction of Mrs. Annie Violette, this musical is a joint effort, combining the musical and acting talents of East View Theater, Choir, Band, and Orchestra programs. This year’s production is the time-old classic, The Wizard of Oz. Follow us down the yellow brick road to the merry old Land of Oz, for a delightful show filled with beautiful costumes, and stunning musical, acting and dancing performances; A timeless treasure that will remind us all: “There’s no place like home!”

All performances take place here, in our own East View Theater. Performance dates are January 21st, 22nd, and 23rd at 7:00 PM, and January 23rd at 3:00 PM.

Tickets are $10 for Adults, $7 for Senior Citizens and Staff, and $5 for Students and Active Military (with ID). Pre-Sale Tickets are available through any Wizard of Oz Cast Member. Tickets will also be sold at the door. Hope to see you there!

TOPIC: 2015 VARSITY FOOTBALL BANQUET

Attention All 2015Varsity Football players: This is a reminder that the 2015 Varsity Football Banquet is this Saturday January the 23rd at 6:30 pm at Main Street Baptist Church. Please ask your parents to check their emails for information. If you have questions please come see Mrs. Lewis

TOPIC: NHS MEMBERS

We will have our group picture today at 3:45 in the cafeteria. Please see Mrs. Fischer or Mrs. Kramer for a pass to get out of your 8th period. Do not be late this will go quickly.

TOPIC: SCHOLARSHIPS

Varsity Tutors runs a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest in which students write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. You may enter the contest on-line. Please come to the counseling office to request the site.

The Bill Buchholtz Scholarship awards seniors who are active in the choir program in high school or church. Please go by the counseling office to pick up the information concerning this scholarship. Submission deadline is April 4, 2016.

The Williamson Aggie Mom’s Club annually gives out $500 scholarships to Williamson County students who are planning to attend or are currently attending Texas A&M University in College Station. Please go by the counseling office to pick up an application. Applications must be postmarked by March 11, 2016.

TOPIC: CULINARY ARTS

Yesterday culinary arts competed against 22 other schools in various competitions at the Culinary Arts Career Conference. Please congratulate Angeliqua Morales on winning 2nd place in the dessert decorating competition, and also congratulate Mario Morales and Keyshaan Castle on winning 1st place in the mystery basket competition!!!

TOPIC: EAST VIEW AUTO TECH

The East View Automotive team placed 2nd out of 5 schools overall in the Central Texas Shoot Out this past Friday.

Intro Level Competitor Cody Surber, sophomore, took 3rd place in: Written Test, Serpentine Belt Removal and Replace, Voltage Alternator output test, and tire balance.

Advanced Competitors:

G De Los Reyes, Senior, took 1st in: Written Test, Code Scanner, Code Repair, and Electrical Board.

Jacob Amison, Senior, took 2nd in: Written Test and Electrical Board.

Jimmy Cardona, Junior, took 3rd in: Written Test, Code Scanner, and CodeRepair.

G De Los Reyes Took 1st in Advance over all.

On Saturday East View took 2nd place in Automotive Quiz bowl and 3rd place in Leadership Quiz Bowl.

TOPIC: KINDNESS MATTERS
