TOPIC: EAST VIEW BASEBALL

Fans of Patriots Baseball – We will be holding our first Baseball Booster Club meeting of the 2015-16 school year on Wednesday, October 7th at 6:00pm in the Lecture Hall at EVHS. Parents and family members of EVHS baseball players are invited to join us as we will be discussing our plans for supporting the 2015-16 East View Baseball program. We are only as strong as the volunteers that make up our club so your participation in our organization is encouraged and much appreciated. If you can’t make the meeting, please be sure to sign up for updates and information on the Patriot Baseball website at We look forward to seeing you all on the 7th.

TOPIC: KEY CLUB MEETING

Come join in the fun of Key Club on Tuesday, October 6 before school in room 206! We are going to be voting on officers and discussing our first duties as a BRAND NEW club here at East View! Everyone is welcome!

TOPIC: HOSA

Look for HOSA Students to be in the Cafeteria during all lunches this week. If you are 17 years old you can sign up to donate blood during the HOSA blood drive on Wednesday Oct. 7th in the EVHS Library. TOPIC: PROJECT 2ND CHANCE

Project 2nd Chance: Do you need to make up course credits? We can help. East View High School offers you a 2nd chance to make up your credits through Project 2nd Chance. Project 2nd Chance is a computer based program that allows you to make up lost credits at your own pace. The program begins October 5 and ends November 12. Project 2nd Chance is held Monday through Thursday from 4:00-5:30. There is a nominal fee involved, and bus transportation will be available if needed. Applications are available at the diamond.

TOPIC: AVAILABLE SCHOLARSHIPS

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Coca-Cola is helping students achieve their college dreams. Coca-Cola is giving college freshmen the opportunity to enter for a chance to win$10,000 or $1,000college scholarships.Go to coke.com/ForTheDream to apply on-line. Deadline to enter is: 10-31-15

SOPHMORES - The Kiwanis Club of Georgetown is presenting the Walter Hurst Sophomore of the Year Scholarship. This scholarship recognizesleadership, rather than academics. Any sophomore is eligible to apply for the $600 scholarship that will be awarded upon the selected student’s enrollment in a college/university after his/her high school graduation. You can pick up an application in the counseling office. The deadline to return application to the counseling office is Nov. 2nd.

Texas PTA offers $1000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors in Texas who will be enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university or a technical institute in the summer or fall semester immediately following applicant’s high school graduation. Please come to the counseling office for more details. The deadline is: December 1st

The Lions Club of Texas is sponsoring 3 contests: the Diabetes Awareness Essay, the Drug Awareness Speech contest, and the Outstanding Youth contest. You must be a Junior or Senior to enter these contests. Please go to or come to the counseling office for additional information. The deadline of all 3 contests is: January 11th.

Texas Student Housing Scholarships are being offered in Austin, Denton and College Station.

Seniors, the housing scholarship deadline is January 31, 2016.
