Top Spot for Boys relay

Swimmers from Thurrock Swimming Club participated in the second block of this year’s Essex Age Group Championships.
Saturday was held at the Olympic Pool in Stratford where all of the 50m races and 9/10-year-old relays took place. In the 9/10-year-old relays, Christian Calianu, AyobamiAkindele, Kevin Moghina & Joshua Shepherd places 1st in the 4x50m medley relay and 2nd in the freestyle event. The girl's team consisted of MariaStanciu, Lottie Delepperall, Tia Lotay & Emma Harris. The girls finished 6th in the free event and 4th in the medley team. Both teams were exceptional.
In the individual sprint events, all 60 swimmers performed outstandingly and the majority of swims were personal best times. Tilly Mayes continued her winning streak taking 1st in the 50m freestyle and butterfly and 9th in the backstroke. Rebecca West won her first individual medal in the back finishing 3rd, 8th breaststroke, 6th in the butterfly and swam in the freestyle. Martine Tran achieved 2nd in the butterfly, 2nd in the backstroke, 4th in the freestyle and breaststroke. Jenson Hurrell achieved 3rd in the backstroke, 7th in the butterfly and competed in the freestyle, breaststroke. TeniOgunlesi achieved 3rd in the freestyle, 9th breaststroke and swam in the backstroke and butterfly.
RadostMilkova made her first two finals finishing 8th in the butterfly, 7th in the backstroke and competed in the freestyle and breaststroke events. Harrison Jarvis came 3rd in the breaststroke and competed in backstroke, freestyle and butterfly events. Sophie Conroy came 3rd in the butterfly and backstroke, 8th in the freestyle and swam the breaststroke. Jasmine Verlander came 3rd in the freestyle and 5th in the backstroke. Elise Delapperall came 3rd in the butterfly, 4th in the backstroke and competed in the freestyle and breaststroke events. Jack Conroy came 5th in the backstroke, 9th in the butterfly and swam the freestyle event. Kieron Harris came 7th in the free and competed in the free and butterfly events. Alexa Miles-Stevens achieved 3rd in the breaststroke and a personal best in the freestyle and butterfly events.
Kevin Moghina came 7th in the butterfly and swam the freestyle and breaststroke, Daniel Boboye came 5th in the breaststroke, 10th in the freestyle and also swum backstroke. Colin Moghina came 6th in the freestyle, 7th in the breaststroke also competing in the backstroke and the butterfly.
Abigayle Still won her first individual placing in the freestyle and also swam the butterfly and the breaststroke. PriyaDhillon made her first final finishing 8th free and completed in the backstroke, butterfly & breaststroke. Luke Crofts finished 3rd in the Backstroke and competed in the Butterfly, Breaststroke and Freestyle events.

On Sunday, the 800m & 1500m events took place Basildon. Aiden Wood and Ben Minister finished 5th & 6th in the 12-year-old age group. Jenson Hurrel finished 3rd in the 13-year-old age category and Harrison Jarvis and Jimmy Taylor placed 3rd and 7th in the 14-year-old group categories. Colin Moghina, MatteoCastello & Aaron Lambie just missed out on a top 8 position.
In the girls 800 events, Elise Delapperall finished 3rd, Jasmine Verlander came 7th, Phoebe Brennan finished 8th in the 15-year-old age group.
Rebecca West (16yrs), Lillian Tagg (14yrs) and Bryony Edgins just missed out on a top 8 finish.
