Top-Level 3-Day Conference with 23 prominent speakers

Official German Pavilion featuring 13 exhibitors

(Heidelberg / Accra) Organised by the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Ghana (AHK Ghana) and the German trade show specialists fairtrade Messe, the 6th WACEE-West African Clean Energy & Environment Exhibition & Conference (WACEE) took place from 07 to 09 November 2017 at the Accra International Conference Centre in Ghana and closed on a positive note. During the the three-day exhibition, 1,129 visitors discussed their business with 40 exhibitors and 23 conference speakers. From the views sampled, 92% of the exhibitors and 100% of the visitors would recommend the show. 85% of the exhibitors were satisfied with the event as a whole and 80% with the number of visitors. For the fourth time, WACEE featured an official “made in Germany” pavilion. Another highlight was the 3-day Conference with 23 prominent speakers from politics and business.

Conference partners included the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Foundation (KAS), Inclusive Business Action Network (IBAN), Yingli Namene West Africa Ltd; Jekora Ventures Limited, Zoomlion Ghana Limited and Partnership in Solar Energy between EBZ (Germany) – CPF (Cameroun).

Exhibitors very satisfied with the fair as a whole

Mr Waldemar Walczok from SICC GmbH pointed out: “Our main target at WACEE 2017 is to get into contact with new customers and to develop our business relations. Also we want spread out the knowledge that "energy saving + well being" is much easier than people might think. We are very satisfied with the quality of the professional visitors.”

And Mr Frederico Dutra, Sales Africa Product Manager at Robert Bosch Limited-Nigeria added: “We are present in Ghana since 2015. We are a global leading provider of energy & efficiency solutions and we want to start shaping the difference in this region. The visitors’ questions and interests are great!”

Top Level 3-Day Conference with 23 prominent speakers

Prominent speakers and an audience of leaders from politics and business discussed key issues at a 3-Day Conference under the theme “Renewable Energy and Environmental Technologies in the Context of Sustainable Development: Future Challenges and Directions”.

Official German Pavilion with 13 exhibitors

For the fourth time in 2017, WACEE featured an official “made in Germany” pavilion with 13 exhibitors. The German pavilion was presented by the Federal German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy in cooperation with AUMA-Association of the German Trade Fair Industry and supported by the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Ghana (AHK Ghana).

Valuable institutional support

In addition to a strong governmental support from Ghana and West Africa, WACEE 2017 enjoyed the support of Ghana’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and the “renewables – Made in Germany” initiative and the German Federal Enterprise for International Cooperation (GIZ).
