Programme Outline

Tootie is hungry. He needs something to eat.But there isnomore foodin his home. His friend,Jennyis so kind to go home to get him somefood. While Tootie is waiting, he sees Hungry Monster. It is eating Tootie’s food! Tootie is not angry. He decides to buy some food for himself and Hungry Monster. But where should he get it? Bob and AmytakeTootie to a bakery and a farm to get his favourite food.After shopping, they go home together. Hungry Monster is still there!Once again, iteats up all the food Tootie bought. How sad and hungry Tootie is! What happens to Tootie in the end?

Pre-viewing Activities

1. Motivate the class by bringing some food into the classroom and ask pupils if they are hungry.

2.Tell pupils to choose the food they like.Teacher writes the names of food on the blackboard for introduction.

3. Brainstorm ideas about theshops thatpupilsusually go tobuy food. Introduce two interesting places, a bakery and a farm to pupils.

5. Introduce the story.Ask pupils to watch and guess whatTootiegetsfrom the bakery and the farm.

While-viewing Activity

  1. Sing songs

Encourage pupils to sing along with Song 1, Song 2 and Song 3 in the programme

with reference to the lyrics printed on COPYMASTER 1.

  1. Ask pupils to pay attention to the foodand drink Tootie is holding in the songs so that pupilsare able to do Part 1 of COPYMASTER 2 after viewing the programme.

Post-viewing Activities

Read together with the class what Tootie and Hungry Monster say in the picturesin COPYMASTER 2 (Part 1). Help pupils complete two sentences.
