D6 COMMUNICATOR
Tom Newby School has implemented a new communication system called the D6 School Communicator. We request all parents to download the software (3 megs) from the following website:
The Communicator can be downloaded onto a desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone. Downloads are available in Windows, Apple, Android and Blackberry formats.
Once you have downloaded the app and registered your D6 Communicator, we encourage all parents to personalise their Communicator to suit their needs. If your child is in 7B and plays cricket, soccer and chess, then only select these channelsand you will receive information through the Communicator relevant to your selection.
News, calendar items, Quo Vadis, gallery, homework and resources, are some of the items that will be communicated through the Communicator.
We urge all parents to start using the D6 Communicator as this will be our primary medium for communicating with parents.

FROM THE ACCOUNTS DEPARTMENT

We would like to draw your attention to the fact, that in terms of Section 40 of the South African Schools Act 84 of 1996 (as amended “the Act”), the payment of school fees is compulsory unless exempted from the payment of fees. In terms of Section 41 (5) (a) and (b) of the Act, should you fail to pay the school fees or apply to the school for an exemption (or partial exemption) as contemplated in terms of Section 39 and relating regulations of the Act, the school is entitled in terms of Section 41 of the Act, to institute legal action for the recovery of the outstanding school fees.

Furthermore, failure to pay or make the necessary application for exemption may result in your name being entered on the National Credit Database (Credit Bureau), which could negatively affect your ability to obtain credit and adversely affect any credit facilities you currently enjoy.

School fees are regarded as a statutory debt which is prescribed by law and may NOT be referred to a Debt Counsellor for debt review under section 129 of the National Credit Act. SCHOOLS ARE EXEMPT FROM THE NATIONAL CREDIT ACT.

Any queries regarding the school fee account or exemption applications are to be addressed to Mrs LeandaSantiero on telephone number : 011-425-2603 (e-mail: )

WE HAVE A NUMBER OF UNIDENTIFIABLE DEPOSITS ON OUR BANK STATEMENTS. WE APPEAL TO PARENTS TO PLEASE ENSURE THAT THE REFERENCE APPEARING ON THE BENEFICIARY’S ACCOUNT IDENTIFIES EXACTLY WHO THE PAYMENT IS FOR. SHOULD YOU HAVE MADE A PAYMENT AND IT DOES NOT REFLECT ON THE SCHOOL FEE STATEMENT PLEASE PROVIDE THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT WITH PROOF OF SUCH PAYMENT SO THAT WE CAN RECTIFY THE SITUATION.

Parents are also reminded of the discounts being offered. All payments need to be made by the end of February to qualify.
