EF TOURS:If you plan to join the EF Tours trip to Paris, Normany and London in April 2016, make sure to check in with Mrs. Manion in 308 before the registration deadline of Friday, Feb. 6th.
SENIORS:Keith Ritchie from KHEAA will be here Friday, Feb. 6 to assist any student who needs to fill out the FAFSA. See the guidance office or Mrs. Cooper to sign up and find out what information you must bring that day to fill it out.
BALFOUR: Balfour will be hereFebruary 19 during lunch to order senior supplies.
Volleyball Banquet:The volleyball banquet is going to betonight Thursday, January 29th from 6-8 in the cafeteria.
Senior Ads:Senior Ad for Grads are due to Mrs. Sutton in room 206 by March 25th. Forms can be picked up in room 206 or at the front desk.
Yearbooks:Yearbooks are now on sale. The website is ybpay.com. The cost is $52 or you can pay in room 206. A charge of $5 per each icon.
Juniors:Juniors, your class officers have created a Twitter page! Follow @LCHSclassof16 to receive updates and give suggestions. We are eager for your input on class happenings, and look forward to making the rest of our high school careers as meaningful as possible.

Academic Team:Congratulations to the Quick Recall team for finishing 2nd in the District!! They will advance to the region on February 14th. Governor’s Cup will continue this week with written assessments!!
HOSA:HOSA members attending state conference. Your moneyand paper work is due today. Please turn into Mrs. Moore.
Lincoln Has Heart:Lincoln Has Heart will be held February 28th, 10:00-2:00 at the Wellness Building at First Southern Veterans Park Soccer Complex. This project is funded by an Appalachian Regional Commission Flex-E-Grant through the Kentucky Department for Local Government and administered by Brushy Fork Institute of Berea College. Flex-E-Grant funds are made available to distressed ARC counties in Kentucky for projects that are designed to build local capacity. The Lincoln County Futures committee has been instrumental in planning this project.
Beta Club members:Please bring in candy for beta clubfundraiser by February 6th.
FBLA:Members need to start bringing in their crush cans.
Boys Basketball-The boys BB team is selling T-shirts. There are three different t-shirts to choose from. Go to the library to pick up.

Scholarship:Lincoln County Educational Fund applications are now available in the Guidance Office.
Juniors-Murray State University’s Commonwealth Honors Academy applications are available in the guidance office or on the LCHS guidance page. The academy accepts applications from juniors who have a 3.5 unweighted GPA and an ACT score of 25. Students receive 6 hours college credit , an additional 6 hours of free classes during their senior year of high school and a $2,000 housing scholarship from Murray State. There is a one time processing fee of $195 (this is waived if the student receives free or reduced lunch). The program dates are from June 6-27 and the application deadline is March 1.
Freshman Summer Program-UK is accepting applications for their Freshman Summer Program which is a 6 week residential enrichment program designed to orient first year students to academic and student life at the University of Kentucky. Participants have the opportunity to earn six credit hours. The program will be held June 7 – July 17th. Application deadline is March 6. See the guidance center or the guidance webpage for more information.
Patterson Scholarship–Students who are interested in majoring in Management, Marketing, General Business or Business and Marketing. Recipients will receive minimally $1,000 per semester in scholarship funds. Scholarships may be renewed annually, up to 8 semesters. Applicants must have a minimum ACT composite score of 24, minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (based on 4.0 scale) and evidence of leadership activities. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Deadline: March 1, 2015.
Sophomores:Attention Sophomores who are applying for Rogers Scholarsthe application is due January 31st.
University of Kentucky:University of Kentucky Health Research Youth Academy- June 28 – July 10, 2015 – Available to high school juniors who are interested in pursuing a career in health care. Applications available in the Guidance Office.Deadline:Friday, March 27, 2015.
University of Kentucky:University of Kentucky Summer Enrichment Program – June 14 – July 10, 2015 Available to high school sophomores who are at least 15 years old and are interested in pursuing a career in health care.Applications available in the Guidance Office.Deadline:Friday, March 27, 2015.
South Kentucky RECC:South Kentucky RECC is offering a Lincoln County High School junior a weeklong, all-expense paid trip to Washington, DC. Students must be in good academic standing and submit their application, transcript, and essay to Mrs. Cooper by 12:00 pm, March 6.
Inter County Energy:Inter County Energy is offering a Lincoln County High School junior a weeklong, all-expense paid trip to Washington, DC. Students must be in good academic standing and submit their application, transcript, and essay to Mrs. Cooper by 12:00 pm, March 6.
Ephraim McDowell: Ephraim McDowellis offering multiple health care scholarships for Lincoln County seniors. Applications are available in the guidance office and are due to Mrs. Cooper by 12:00 pm on March 13.
South Kentucky RECC:South Kentucky RECC is offering a Lincoln County High School senior, whose parent/guardian is a resident of the South Kentucky RECC service area and a current member of the cooperative, a $1,000 scholarship.Applications are available in the guidance center. Applications due by to Mrs. Cooper by March 31st.
Inter County RECC: Inter County RECC is offering a Lincoln County High School senior, whose parent/guardian is a resident of the Inter County service area and a current member of the cooperative, a $1,000 scholarship. Applications available in the guidance center or on the guidance web page. Applications due by 12:00 pm, March 27.
Kaplan: Kaplan will have a FREE ACT Practice Test at Boyle County Public Library on February 8th from 1:30-5:10 PM. Students will need to register at the following link. Seating is limited so register now!

Whitaker Bank/KHSAA Sweet Sixteen Scholarships:Four $1,500 one time scholarships are available to high school seniors who participate in KHSAA sanctioned sports. Applications available in the guidance office or on the LCHS guidance scholarship page. Applications due Feb. 18 to Mrs. Cooper
Civil Engineering: Anyone interested in pursuing a career in Civil Engineering and has an ACT composite score of 24, can pick up scholarship information in the Guidance Office. Deadline: March 1, 2015.
Scholarship:Democratic Woman’s Club of Kentucky $1,000.00 scholarship. Must be a graduating senior who plans to attend an accredited Kentucky College, University, Nursing School or Technical College/School or Business School. Parents must be registered as Democrats.Applications available in the Guidance Office. Deadline:February 1, 2015.

Kentucky Farm Bureau:Kentucky Farm Bureau will award 86 county and state college scholarships to high school seniors this school year. Applications are available in the guidance center or on the LCHS guidance web page under Scholarships.Applications must be postmarked by Feb. 28, 2015.To be eligible, students must:Have either a minimum 3.5 unweighted GPA or a minimum 23 ACT score; Be the child of a KY Farm Bureau member and remain such while the scholarship is in force; Finish high school within the school year they apply for the scholarship; For the Leadership in Agriculture Scholarship, student’s parents must be actively engaged in production agriculture.
2015 GE-REGAN FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM:This national program awards college scholarships to high school seniors who embody the characteristics of President Ronald Regan at school, in the community, in the workplace, and at home. Applicants should exhibit Leadership, Drive, Integrity and Citizenship. Recipients receive $10,000 renewable scholarships – up to $40,000 per student. UK Scholarship:Any senior, planning to attend UK, who is interested in pursuing a career in the medical field such as; athletic training, physical therapy, nursing, etc and would be interested in working as a student athletic trainer at UK needs to see Mrs. Cooper for an application. Students must have a 2.75 unweighted GPA to apply.
EKU Upward Bound:The EKU upward bound program is looking for freshman and sophomore students to join their program.Applications are available in the Guidance Office.
Kentucky State University and Toyota Academic Scholarship: Full Tuition, Room, Board, Books and Academic Related Fees Scholarship. Eligibility requirements: Incoming freshmen interested in Mechanical or related Engineering fields who have a 3.2 unweighted GPA and 26 ACT composite (minimum math score of 26 and English score of 18). Application deadline February 1st Application is available in the guidance office.
Letter of Recommendation:If you need letters of recommendation for colleges or activities, pick up a Letter of Recommendation Personal Data Form in the guidance office. These must be filled out in detail and returned to counselors for us to write the recommendation
