To Who It May Concern:

The Wings Ministry is a community outreach program based on the LOGOS Program style of ministry, with support from Prison Fellowship, and the Corrections Department. We host three community parties a year, (Christmas, Easter and Back-to-School), giving family members of inmates an opportunity to meet members of churches from the area. Our goal is to introduce the guests to members of congregations that will help them feel welcomed into their churches.

The Wings Ministry was founded in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1995. Wings is an ecumenical event, whose sole purpose is to connect inmate’s families to congregations in their neighborhoods that can nurture them and reach out to them while they have a loved one in prison. If they become involved with a church, hopefully they will come to know Christ.

Any and all support would be greatly appreciated. Guideposts Magazine is one of our sponsors and they donate magazines for adults and children, as well as videos, books, cards, and handmade sweaters from their readers. Other sponsors include .

Each Wings Party is based on Acts 2:42. The 4 parts that everyone participates in include: Singing (chimes, guitar, etc.), an inter-active Bible study, crafts or games (an example is making cards for the inmates), and a dinner (usually pizza, drinks and cookies.) After dinner, we always play a fun “table game” and then close with a large prayer circle and distribution of the gifts.

Please call me if you have any questions about this wonderful ministry. I invite you to become a part of it through your participation and attendance at the parties, donation of foods or gifts, or financial support. Financial contributions are tax deductible as Wings is a 501(c)3 organization.
