SUBJECT: Annie Powe Hopper Award Nominations

The Academic Awards and Scholarships Committee is seeking nominations for the Annie Powe Hopper Award.

The Annie Powe Hopper Award is Valdosta State University’s most prestigious academic award and represents the highest values of the university and the highest level of individual academic achievement by an undergraduate. In addition to academic excellence, the recipient should be a senior who best exemplifies the traditions of the university and the character, dignity, and presence associated with the memory of Annie Powe Hopper.

Please forward this email to any appropriate parties asking them to consider nominating an outstanding student for this award.

All nominees must meet the following minimum criteria:

  1. G.P.A. of 3.0 or better in ALL academic work
  2. Minimum of 60 semester hours in academic subjects at VSU by the end of Fall 2016
  3. Graduation date of December 2016 through August 2017

Nominations should be submitted by the end of the day Friday, March 24, 2017. The Academic Honors and Scholarship Committee will interview nominees and determine the winner. The nomination form is attached.

In addition to the nomination formplease submit a cover letter of nomination and support which explains how the nominee best exemplifies academic excellence and the traditions of Valdosta State University.
