SUBJECT: Presentation of 3% Budget Reduction Scenarios for 2010-2011
Please find attached Laney College 3% Budget Reduction Scenario for 2010-1011.
This scenario results from the concerted efforts of the entire Laney team, lead by administrators and faculty leaders with input from classified staff and students. Both the Laney College Budget Advisory Committee and the College Council, via consensus, recommended advancing this result to the PBC. As part of the rigorous discussions in both groups, the College looks forward to helping establish (1) district-wide budget planning and reduction related principles and (2) a district-wide budget allocation model that serves to meet the educational needs of the colleges. Towards such end, I have also attached a copy of our current principles that are being updated as we continue to critically review our efforts.
Regrettably, I will not be able to join you for the upcoming Planning and Budget Council (PBC) meeting, Friday, May 21st due to an out-of-town commitment. However, I have asked Dr. George Kozitza along with the Vice Presidents Drs. Moore and White to present this scenario on my behalf.
Thank you for working on behalf of all colleges and the District Office to ensure the integrity of the planning and budgeting processes district-wide.
