  • animals that lay eggs

2. To study or not to study? That is the question.

Yahoo conducted the survey and asked people "WHY DO WE STUDY?". Here are some of the answers.

And what is your answer to this question?

3. In previous answers find 2 sentences beginning with IF. What tense is the verb after IF? What tense is the other verb?

4. Study this information about 1st and 2nd Conditional.

1) How do we form them?

2) Do they refer to Present, Past or Future?

3) What is the difference between them?

Instead of IF we can use WHEN, UNTIL, AS SOON AS, UNLESS(= if not), BEFORE.

5. Practice Conditionals and do these exercises.

6. Finish these sentences with true ideas about you.

7. Complete these sentences in a way which is true for you. Be attentive! Here we speak about imagining, hypothetical situations.

8. Video.

Read the passage below and complete the blanks with the verbs in parentheses, using with the first conditional.

You have just received the visit of a total stranger who gives you a mysterious box with a button and makes the following offer to you:
If you _push______(push) the button, two things will happen______(happen). First, someone, somewhere in the world, whom you don't know, will die______(die). Second, you _will receive______(receive) a payment of one million dollars. Tax free. The payment _will be______(be) delivered by me in cash to you.
There are three restrictions:
1. You are not permitted to know any information about who's making the offer.
2. You are not permitted to discuss the details of this offer to anyone except your husband (wife).
3. You have 24 hours to make your decision.
4. Otherwise, the box will be reprogrammed and the offer will be made to someone else.

Now watch the video and check your answers

Discuss the following questions. Remember that you are talking about an unreal situation, so you must use the second conditional. Then write down your answers. Start them with If...
