REFEREE SELECTION:
We would like to thank those shinpan who have volunteered as a referee for the 2014 U.S. Kendo Championships. Unfortunately for this event, we have limited the number of referees we are extending invitations to participate. The following sensei from your federation have been selected to officially serve at the 2014 U.S. Championships:
-Mr. Masashi Shikai – Court Judge- Mr. Kazuharu Arima – Referee
-Mr. Jay Park – Referee- Mr. Takao Shoraku – Referee
-Mr. Kevin Abe – Referee- Mr. Naoki Nagatani – Referee
-Mr. Ken Kook Bae Lee – Referee
Referee arrival date: Please arrive by Thurs., June 26th. There will be a referee seminar/meeting from 3pm to 6pm that day. Location is the Harry West Gymnasium. Bus transportation to/from hotel and gym will be provided. More info will be sent prior to the event.
Referee subsidy: Selected judges and referees will have reimbursement subsidies for transportation and hotel. Please see attached sheets for reimbursement info and reimbursement form. Referee’s bento and shuttle bus, each day, are at “no-charge”.
Hotel rooms for Referees and volunteers: We are currently reviewing each federation’s reservations at the headquarters hotel. PLEASE KEEP ALL RESERVATIONS previously made. We will confer with each federation as to “room sharing”.
OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT VOLUNTEERS:
We would also like to thank those individuals who have volunteered to assist at the US Championships. Official volunteers will have been contacted by Mr. Mike Yu (Volunteer Coordinator)or myself for individual assignments and responsibilities.
Official Volunteer subsidy: Officially contacted volunteers will have reimbursement subsidies for transportation and hotel. Please see attached sheets for reimbursement info and reimbursement form. Volunteer’s bento and shuttle bus, each day, are at “no-charge”.
BREAKFAST/BENTO/PARTY/BUS APPLICATION FORMS:
Please see attached spreadsheet for ordering the above optional items:
-Breakfast boxes are available for 3 days. They will be available for pickup each morning, more info to come.
-Bento boxes are available for 3 days, each day will have a different menu. Pickup will be at event site.
-Sayonara party is open to all. Note: Pre-orders are $60/person ($25/children-10yrs & under). Cost at door is $70/person.
-Shuttle Buses are available to all. Buses will be first come, first served. Shuttles will go between gym and hotel.
-THURSDAY SHUTTLE: shuttle is for Team practice sessions (teams should schedule with T. Yuge). Free service for referees and volunteers. Schedules will be announced.
-Order instructions: Use SEPARATE form for: 1-team members/coaches, 2-Referees, 3-Volunteers, 4-others
-Due date: Submit order forms, via email, by May 21st. Payment may follow immediately, via regular mail. See instructions on sheet.
