Policies

We understand how important your work is, so we seek to be fair and accessible to all users of the Writing Center. The following policies ensure that tutors will be equally available to you and others as traffic at the center grows:

Maximum Appointments

To provide access to as many students as possible, students are limited to 2 non-consecutive appointments per week. If you have a special circumstance that you believe merits an exemption to this policy, contact the Assistant Director for Writing/Language/ESL at .

Advanced Booking

Because appointments are available on a first-come first-served basis, we recommend scheduling your appointment at least one week before the paper's due date. During high demand weeks (such as midterms and finals), we recommend that you schedule your appointment two to three weeks in advance.

No-Show Policy

Please let us know if you cannot attend your appointment. Students who miss 2 appointments in a single semester—without cancelling at least 15 minutes prior to the appointment—will be blocked from scheduling subsequent appointments. Blocked students will only be able to use the Writing Center on a walk-in basis.
