Congratulations! Based on your GPA of 3.88 or higher, you are eligible to be considered for membership in the Mary Seymore Carter Chapter of the National Honor Society at Lee County High School. Membership in the National Honor Society is one of the highest honors high school students can receive. It identifies you as a student with superior grades, good character, leadership abilities and a concern for the world. Membership is never on the basis of grades alone. Participation in three activities is required, two must be on campus. These activities should reflect your commitment to leadership, service, and character.

In order for the Faculty Council to make an informed decision concerning your membership, you are required to compose a “Student Activity Survey” following the instructions in the document on Google Drive https://docs.google.com/a/lee.k12.nc.us/document/d/1VfYJnoRUCSA4Sm48RBEwxmiVFw1MooSD-S2EYEer_2A/edit?usp=sharing This letter and link is on the NHS webpage and on the NHS Webpage in word and PDF http://www.lee.k12.nc.us/Page/7518 . It is similar to a resume’ and should be saved for later use. You may use the document shared on Google Drive at the bottom of the instructions or the “Student Activities Survey Sample” on the NHS webpage or compose your survey in Google docs, or word using the same format. You will need to share your survey with on Google Drive. Activities and will be verified with adult leaders or coaches. School discipline records are also reviewed to confirm your good character. Submission of a “Student Activity Survey” does not guarantee that you will be selected for induction this year. Failure to submit the “Student Activity Survey” will disqualify you from consideration for this year. Please submit your “Student Activity Survey” as soon as possible, but not later than 4 PM, October 27, 2016. Contact Mrs. Miller in rm 1324 for help.

You will be informed shortly thereafter if you have been accepted into the National Honor Society. The Induction Ceremony for new members is scheduled for Monday, November 7th, 2016 at 7:00 PM in the Lee County High School Auditorium. You must attend and be inducted to be a member of NHS.
