The 2018annual board meeting of the National Consortium for Health Science Education is scheduled on January31 and February 2inSan Antonio, Texas. The meeting will be held at the:

The tentative agenda is included in this packet, along with an RSVP sheet, which must be returned by December 15, 2017to ensurehotel lodging. We will complete a master bill room list based on your RSVP. If you would like to share a room, please note on the RSVP form; otherwise we will book you into a single room. We will make your room reservations. Please do not contact the hotel forreservations. The room rate is $169.00/night, plus local taxes. The room rate has been extended to three days prior and post meeting should you wish to come early or stay later.
Please book your flight either using an Internet source or travel service at your organization. Airfares over $500 require approval from Carole Stacy, NCHSE Executive Director ().If for some reason, you are unable to attend the meeting after your ticket has been purchased and you have been compensated,you will need to reimburseNCHSE for the flight cost. The meeting will end at 12N on Thursday, February 1. Plan your return flightfor later in the afternoon, so you can stay until the end of the meeting. Please book your flight early. The hotel does not provide an airport shuttle, you can use Uber, a taxi or there is a Go Shuttle. Additional logistics information will be sent out closer to the meeting
NCHSE will reimburse airfare and cover two hotel nights for board membersattendingthe annual meeting.These are the only Board meeting travel-related expenses that will be reimbursed. For 2018, NCHSE did not implement a dues increase based on member feedback. Covering only airfare and hotel is a budget saving strategy. For a board member to be eligible for reimbursement,membership dues need to be current. In recent weeks, you should have receiveda 2018 dues invoice due electronically. Please make every attempt to process your dues prior to the annual meeting.
During the meeting,every effort will be made to allow members an opportunity to share information from their states. There will also be a table available for resources and documents you may want to share with other board members.
Asin previous years, the Health Science State Leaders are planning to meet the day prior to the NCHSE Board Meeting, Tuesday, January 30 in the same location. While this meeting is not a NCHSE function, we are always happy to assist with this event. Detailed information will be forthcoming from the meeting coordinator, Randi Hunewill (Nevada) . If planning to attend this state lead meeting,your room cost for Mondaynight, January 29will be your responsibility. Based on your RSVP, you will be included on the NCHSE rooming list for that night, so that you are assured the meeting roomrate, which is substantially reduced from the hotel’s regular rate.
We are looking forward to a productive and informative meeting in 2018. Our membership numbers remain constant. In fact, we are pleased to welcome several new states to the Board. NCHSE anticipates 2018 being a great year for the organization!
