The Undergraduate Council will meet on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 1:40 pm in Torreyson Library, room 206. The following curriculum items will be considered:

Action items:

  1. A proposal from the College of Liberal Arts/Bachelor of General Studies for new course GEST 4380 General Studies Capstone.
  1. A proposal from the School of Nursing to add NURS 4315 Research and Evidence Based Practice to the UCA Upper Division Core as an elective in the category of Critical Inquiry and Effective Communication.
  1. A proposal from the History department for new course HIST 3390 Introduction to Historical Writing.
  1. A proposal from the History department to reduce the total hours in the minor from 24 to 18 hours and to expand the list of electives with four more courses.
  1. A proposal from University College to change the placement requirements for UNIV 0361.
  1. A proposal from the Political Science department for new course PSCI 3345 Women and US Politics.
  1. A proposal from the Political Science department for new course PSCI 3316 Cyber Security Law and Policy.
  1. A proposal from the Philosophy and Religion department to add PHIL 3310 Symbolic Logic to the UCA Upper Division Core as an elective in the category area of Critical Inquiry.

  2. From the School of Nursing: change course title, description and credit hours for NURS 3315 to NURS 3304 Nursing Care of the Older Adult.
  3. From the School of Nursing: change course title, description and credit hours for NURS 4505 to NURS 4525 Medical-Surgical Nursing II.
  4. From the History department: changes to electives, requirements and prerequisites within the department.
  5. From the Philosophy department: change course title PHIL 3360Philosophy of Art to Philosophy of the Arts and a nonsubstantive editorial change of the course description for the Bulletin.
  6. From the History department/African and African American Studies: convert AFAM 1330 to hybrid delivery.
  7. From the EFIRM department/Finance: convert FINA 4336 to online delivery.
  8. From the department of Health Sciences/Addiction Studies: add HSC 4314 and remove HSC 3320 from the Treatment track upper-division UCA Core requirements.
  9. From the department of Languages, Linguistics, Literatures, & Culture/Linguistics: convert LING 3325 to online delivery.
  10. From the department of Languages, Linguistics, Literatures & Culture/Spanish: add SPAN 3301 to all bulletin descriptions that require SPAN 3300 as a prerequisite to also count SPAN 3301 as an alternate prerequisite.
  11. From the College of Liberal Arts/Bachelor in General Studies: convert GEST 4380 to online delivery.
