DON’T FORGET TO PUT DOWN JUDGES NAMES FOR PRELIMINARY ROUNDS!

All entry fees will be taken out of your £50 Competition Fee. Secretaries please fill in these

forms and return to the County Office or PASS on to the new secretary. Rules will be emailed to you.

Please make sure you nominate Judges – particularly for the Quiz.

PLEASE RETURN THE QUIZ ENTRY FORM ASAP AS LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE INCLUDED IN THE DRAW.

3. Age Eligibility – ALL COMPETITIONS 2015 -16

Junior – 16 or under on 1st September 2016.

Intermediate – 21 or under on 1st September 2016.

Senior – 26 or under on 1st September 2016.

4. Club Officer Training Day, 10.00 am, Sunday 11th September, Penruddock Village Hall

Please return the entry form by Monday 5th September, so we can calculate numbers for the FREE LUNCH.

All Clubs must send their Club Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer.

We will be filling forms in for DBS checking – Clubs must send Club Officer/Leader/Senior Members (up to 3 who spend most time with their members) to the Training Day if they have not been DBS checked within the last 3 years. They will need to bring 3 documents as follows plus their National Insurance number: -

Group 1 – Passport, Birth Certificate, Driving License with counterpart.

Group 2 – Marriage Certificate, vehicle registration document, bank/ credit card statement, utility bill (not mobile phone)

One document from Group 1 plus any 2 from Groups 1 & 2 – one should verify your address.

8. English Winter Fair Training and Eliminator & Carcass Judging

Dates: Wednesday the 28th September and Wednesday 19th October, 7.30 pm sharp

This is an excellent opportunity for your club members to learn about carcass judging and to try out for a place at the English Winter Fair. Numbers attending have decreased over the years, so please encourage your members to attend, they do not need to sign up in advance, they can just turn up on the night!

THE CIRCULAR: The circular is for you to ACTION, read out at your meetings and show to the Club’s Chairperson and Club Leader. You can also send us information about club socials, events and activities to include. Please ensure that all relevant details are read out to your members.

OFFICERS’ GUIDELINES: If you have not received these from previous officers they will be given out at the Club Officer Training Day.

You will be sent a new list of secretaries when we receive all the AGM forms back with their details.

18. CLUB AGMS

19. NFYFC Behaviour Policy

The NFYFC Behaviour Policy has now been sent to all club secretaries. Please ensure that your club meet to

discuss the policy prior to Council on Thursday 15th September. Your club representatives should bring any

feedback or comments to this meeting as the policy will be discussed and recommendations made to adopt

it during this meeting.

20. Torquay AGM 2017 Organisers

The Finance and General Purposes Committee has agreed that going forward that there should always be 2

organisers for the AGM trips, 1 organiser should be a member from the Northern District and the other

should be from the Southern District. We are currently looking for 2 organisers for the Torquay AGM 2017,

so please can you ask your clubs if anyone is interested in being an organiser and if so, pass their details on

to me.

21. Year Book 2017

We are looking for a member from the Northern District who is interested in putting together the Year

Book 2017. Please can you ask your clubs if anyone is interested in being an organiser and if so, pass their

details on to me.

22. TOW Referee Training

Yorkshire YFC are organising TOW referee training on the 22nd/ 23rd October at Countryside Live. Ideally we

would like to send 3 – 4 members from each district along to the training, which will be paid for by Cumbria

YFC. We are specifically looking for club advisory members who have an interest in TOW and would be

prepared to commit to refereeing for County and District TOW events for a number of years. Please

forward details of anyone who is interested onto me at County Office.

23. Emergency First Aid at Work Training

An amazing opportunity to put members of your club through a certified first aid course at a much reduced

cost. Entry forms to be returned to County Office by the 3rd October – up to 2 members from each club. All

those who complete the course successfully will be awarded the HABC Level 2 Award in Emergency First

Aid at Work. Cost: currently £55 per person – contribution from County and District budget is being sought,

so we hope to reduce the cost further.

24. Vertical Air Fun Day

A fun, club day on the high ropes in Kendal. Entry forms returned to County Office by the 12th September –

up to 4 members from each club able to attend. Cost: currently £36 per person – contribution from County

and District budget is being sought, so we hope to reduce the cost further.

25. National Young Farmers’ Week

NFYFC has asked that all clubs remember to build activities into their club programme to promote Young

Farmers’ Week, which will take place from the 19th to the 25th September. The week is geared towards

encouraging mew members to join young farmers and to let your local communities know about all the

great things you get up to within your clubs! If you have anything of specific interest that you would like to

let NFYFCknow about, please contact:

26. Cumbrian Rural Travel Bursary

If you are under the age of 30 with an involvement in agriculture and eager to learn more about farming practices in other parts of the world, The Cumbrian Rural Study Travel Bursary (CRSTB) will be of interest. It is available to young farmers across Cumbria and the south west of Scotland and is an opportunity not to be missed.

The Bursary will provide a contribution toward travel expenses, and has been designed to support young farmers who want to learn about the diversity of the agricultural industry on a world wide scale. Up to two cash awards will be made annually; the maximum value of each will be £2000..

To apply, prospective young travellers should complete an application form, returning it by 31st October 2016, giving their background, what they want to study and the benefits they see, arising from the trip. Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed by the Society and the sponsors.
