Some supervision of junior research staff
Job Purpose:
To undertake research in accordance with the specified research project under the supervision of the award holder.
Key Accountabilities/Primary Responsibilities (6-10 bullet points maximum)
  1. To carry out and develop the research activities of the T cell costimulation group.
  1. Regularly disseminate findings by taking the lead in preparing publication materials for referred journals, presenting results at conferences, or exhibiting work at other appropriate events.
  1. Contribute to the writing of bids for research funding.
  1. Collaborate/work on original research tasks with colleagues in other institutions.
  1. Carry out administrative tasks associated with specified research funding, for example risk assessment of research activities, organisation of project meetings and documentation. Implementation of procedures required to ensure accurate and timely formal reporting and financial control.
  1. Supervise the work of junior research staff.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
PhDin Molecular Cell Biology or equivalent
PhD in Immunology
Detailed understanding and knowledge of Molecular Cell Biology relevant to eukaryotes
Knowledge of T cell Immunology
Experience of analysis of T cell activation and function
Experience of working with in vivo models
Experience of molecular biology techniques
Experience of analysis of DNA methylation and other epigenetic modifications
Experience of microRNA analysis
Experience of raising monoclonal antibodies
Experience of recombinant protein production in mammalian cells
Experience of protein purification
Experience of analysis of intracellular signalling pathways / 
