April 6th is approaching, the 112th Birthday of Pier Giorgio, and like every year, we do not want to let this day pass without making a gift—responding to his invitation to his friends: “I would like us to make a pact that knows neither earthly boundaries nor temporal limits: union in prayer.” (to I. Bonini 1/15/1925)

In this year of Faith, “the luminous figure of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, […] passionate for God,”- as Pope Benedict XVI describes him while inviting to read his biography (12/17/2012) - reminds us that the baptized person isa lover of God. Pier Giorgio, who fully lived his existence, is a friend who shows the way to a true life, full and happy, desired by all men.

On April 6th, therefore, inspired by this strong, youthful figure, the Pier Giorgio Frassati Association of Rome, in collaboration with the Company of Shady Characters of Pier Giorgio Frassati of Grottammare and with the Italian Office of Youth Ministry, invites all the friends of Pier Giorgio to come together in a moment of prayer, renewing our Baptismal Promises, the door of Faith, in order to reinvigorate our “passion for God.” Also on that day, we invite them to send, via facebook or twitter, a brief message in which they give witness to the joy of their own Faith in Jesus Christ or quote a thought of Pier Giorgioabout Faith.

The list of associations, groups, etc., which join in this initiative, will be visible on the websites: and you are asked, to confirm your participation to e, to send the city and nation where you come from. The text of the Renewal of Baptismal Promises that we will recite together can be downloaded in various languages on Confident in your participation and with the joy of being able to celebrate together the Birthday of Pier Giorgio, we send you our warmest greetings.
