To: All Prospective Early Field Students,

Based on our records, you are planning to participate in EDU 214 Early Field Experience for the Interim session. Attached is the Application and all information required to attain all 3 clearances. You will also need to be a member of PSEA to participate in Early Field. You should already have all of your clearances on file. HOWEVER, be certain to check the dates. Child Abuse and PA State Police clearances are valid for one year.

Submit an electronic copy of your questionnaire and student profile to me via e-mail. The questionnaire and student profile will be copied and given to your cooperating teacher. Since it is important that you make a positive first impression, all documents should be error free.

Please note the following reminders:

Ø All clearances, (Child Abuse Clearance, Criminal History Record and the FBI Clearance) must be copied and turned in to the Education Office. Please keep your originals and take them with you when you go to your assigned school on the first day. School personnel may ask to see them when you arrive.

Ø Register for EDU 214 for the upcoming Interim session at the Registrar’s Office

Ø We will be meeting in the morning of the Interim semester start date @ 9:00 a.m. in South Lounge.

Ø Attendance is required. Absence will result in dismissal from the class.

Ø You are expected to be in your assigned schools all day and every day of the Field Experience. A total of 14 days is scheduled for the Interim semester.

Ø Please bring back to campus appropriate clothing.

Males: Slacks, jackets, sweaters, ties, shoes…no sneakers

Females: Skirts, dresses, pants, stockings, appropriate shoes

Please feel free to stop by the Education office, room 209 in Masters Hall to make sure your documents are in order. It is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 5:00.
