To all Metropolitan Charlotte Referees:

Please read through this announcement very carefully as it represents a major change in Match Reporting policy for all USSF NCYSA Classic Matches played in the region:

Beginning Monday, March 10, 2008, all NCYSA Classic Matches assigned by Charles Powell, Diego Romero or Eric Johnson will require an Arbiter online Match Report.

At a recent NCYSA Technology meeting in Greensboro, there was a strong interest in streamlining the Match Reporting procedures with the goal of eventually moving to an entirely online process. It would save paper, postage and time and could possibly increase accuracy. But we all have to cooperate and test out possible procedures. Our area was selected as a first test region.

This does not take away the referee’s requirement of filling out and mailing in the official NCYSA Match Report. This does not take away from the referee’s responsibility to submit a Supplemental Match Report if there has been one or more red card issued during the match or if there occurred any other significant event during the match such as an abandoned match.

Filling out the online match report is easy.

1.  Bring home your copy of the match report and go online at www.thearbiter.net.

2.  Click on Schedule and on the match were you were the referee, click on the red ‘R’ next to the match number.

3.  Fill out the score.

4.  If any cautions or sendoffs were issued, fill out the Comments section following the following protocol:
A. YC/RC; HT/VT; #; Name; Minute, Code; Reason
Where: HT is Home Team, VT is Visitor Team, # is the jersey number; Minute is the minute in the match, Code is the 7 Cautions or the 7 Sendoffs, and reason is the type of foul or misconduct.
B. For example: RC; VT; #18; Jim Nasium; 43’; SFP; cleats up two legged tackle.
C: Or: YC; HT; #3; Luke Warmwater; 61’; PI; team continuously fouling opponent #12.

5.  Check the Supplemental Report boxes if necessary.

6.  DO NOT CHECK Verify or Approved/Resolved.

7.  Press SAVE.

Remember: The staff at NCYSA will be reading these match reports, so be factual and accurate. Just the facts, please! Remember, if you need to add extra commentary, there is a NOTES icon that should be used for that purpose.

Remember: This is for NCYSA Classic Matches. CPSL Adult matches are already following this procedure. It is certainly in all our interest to do well with this test so please follow up online with every match you are the referee.

If you have a forfeit, rained out, or abandoned match, put 0-0 as the score, and then put the score at the time of the termination in the Comments section. Do not make any statements about a winner or loser or re-playing the match; those are league or association decisions.

Thanks,

Eric, Diego and Charles
